Liyue is a region layer with mystery and hosts some of the most beautiful areas found in Genshin Impact. The region has towering mountains, elegant pools, and tons of puzzles for players to solve. It is much bigger than Mondstadt and packed with about twice the amount of content.
With such a huge region, players are sure to miss quite a few things as they try to gather up all the treasure chests and escort all the Seelie home. Liyue is a prosperous land, and just about everyone in the region works hard to make as much mora as they can.
10 Even Children are Hagglers
It isn’t just the adults that have learned the trades of Liyue. Even the children found in the region have learned the art of haggling in order to get what they want. From ensuring that they get the newest toys to outsmarting their parents in business tactics the children of the region are nothing to laugh at.
Even the most innocent looking child may be able to talk you down to the lowest price possible.
9 The Bookstore is Strict
For those that love collecting the game’s massive amount of lore, hearing that there is a bookstore in Liyue Harbor is quite wonderful. Sadly, the bookstore seems to be just about as strict as the rest of the shops, and there are no libraries that the Traveler can borrow books from.
The bookstore doesn’t allow its patrons to browse through the books or sit around and read them.
8 There are a lot of Tourists
Wandering around the harbor will reveal that there are a lot of tourists. Liyue is a grand city and a major trading port; it’s not surprising that many travelers from different regions feel the need to visit. From Inazuma to Snezhnaya, there are all types of people taking in the gorgeous city.
There are even some visitors that sneak their way into boats in order to visit the city.
7 There Are Two Competing Styles of Food
Liyue Harbor is known all around Teyvat for its cuisine, and the character Xiangling even has a restaurant there. The two major styles are the Li and Yue, which both have restaurants that constantly compete against one another to win even more customers in the city.
Most citizens are even said to only prefer one style or the other, something that Xiangling wishes to change.
6 There are Scams
In a city as rich as Liyue, not everyone is going to try to make their money in an honest fashion. There are scams going on around the harbor, and some shops even set up elaborate schemes and work together to pull in even more of a profit by manipulating the market prices.
The people of Liyue often know how to haggle and what goods to look out for when making a deal.
5 You Can Access the Elegant Ship
The elegant red ship that floats in the harbor isn’t just for decoration; players can board it. The ship is called The Pearl Gallery and is an exclusive boat for some of the wealthier citizens in the region. When first boarding, there is even a small mission to earn permanent access to the ship.
Several treasure chests can be found around the boat, and it is now part of a characters storyline.
4 There is a Village of Only Animals
Despite the beauty of Liyue harbor, the rest of the region is covered in ruins, swamps, and ghosts. There is a forest full of blue flames, a ghost girl who loves hilichurls, and if players climb enough mountains, then they will eventually locate a ruined village that is only inhabited by animals.
The village is small and tucked away in the small portion of the map; both dogs and cats are present around the fallen houses, though.
3 It Features a Dendro User
Players who are really wrapped up in the story may have not noticed that the first-ever Dendro user has already been introduced. Baizhu is the owner of Bubu pharmacy and has a dendro vision on his hip, although players have yet to see what type of fighting style he has.
Baizhu is accompanied by a talking snake, which may make his powers similar to that of Fischl and Oz.
2 There is a Man Who Loves to Display His Wares
Tons of shops line the city and some of them are just strange. One particular shop is only open so that the owner can display his wares. He lets the player know that he has nothing to sell and only opened the shop so that he can display some of his favorite items, which is rather odd.
The man never really elaborates more on his decision and is open around the clock to show off.
1 The Perfume Lady is Incredibly Strange
Whether the player chooses the male or female protagonist, they still will be flirted with by the perfume maker. Even stranger, going by her shops prompts her to make some of the most suggestive comments in the game, which by the way the dialogue looks, even weirds out the Traveler.
The perfume shop is a place best avoided as it will likely just weird out most of the game’s players.
