Since its release in September of 2020, Genshin Impact has stood as one of the most popular games in recent years. Often compared to big titles like The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Genshin Impact features RPG elements, action-based battles, and a gacha game monetization system.
This game is full of adventures, quests to complete, and characters to meet throughout Teyvat. While it has a considerable amount of playable characters, one of the things that stands out the most about Genshin Impact is the detail of its numerous NPCs, with dialogues that link them to each other and make the game’s lore richer. Some of them are so interesting that players have demanded, whether jokingly or not, that these NPCs appear with their Banners so they can play as them.
10 La Signora
The first to start this list is none other than La Signora, The Fair Lady. When you first meet La Signora in the game, she is introduced as Number Eight of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. La Signora belongs to the nation of Snezhnaya and is the main villain of the game. She ambushes players outside the Cathedral of Mondstadt in Act 3.
Despite the resentment that some may have toward her for hurting the beloved Venti, they cannot deny that Signora’s character design is incredible. The powers she has shown to possess have a lot of potential for a playable character and, undoubtedly, a high-tier one.
9 Ying’er
Ying’Er is a shop assistant that works in The Scent of Spring in Liyue. She’s known among the players for her funny and double-entendre-filled dialogue, and for this reason, she has won the fan’s affection.
This perfume seller NPC has a lot of personality, and no one would mind seeing what it would be like if she became a playable character.
8 Madame Ping
One of the most ongoing jokes among Genshin Impact players is, perhaps, Madame Ping’s fanmade Banners. This NPC can be found in Liyue Harbor or at Yujing Terrace. She seems to have a past with Zhongli, who usually avoids her for unknown reasons.
Madame Ping is an older woman who likes tea and watching flowers, but somehow her memories and some of her attitudes have piqued people’s curiosity. So much that, if there is a possibility of Madame Ping becoming a playable character, there is a theory that she would return to the beauty of her youth, which would probably disappoint players who really want to play a 6-Star Granny.
7 Ellin
Ellin dreams of being a knight someday but has been having a little trouble with it. Hated by many for her famous daily commissions and loved by just the same amount, maybe it’s time to grant Ellin her wish.
Ellin, the Wannabe Knight, might surprise players with the skills she’s acquired during her training.
6 Cyrus
Cyrus is the Branch Master of the Adventurer’s Guild; you can find him In the City of Mondstadt. He is among the favorites to become a playable character, mainly due to his incredible character design (a tall and burly blonde man).
The argument his fans make is that all of Genshin Impact’s playable characters are of similar build, young and slim, and with cute rather than rugged beauty, so a character like Cyrus would add variety in the body types department — and what a body he has.
5 Dvalin
Dvalin, also called the Stormterror, is a dragon-shaped NPC, one of the Four Winds of Mondstadt and the Dragon of the East. Dvalin is a character with a developed backstory, which explains his motives for distrusting humans and becoming such a wary creature. He also has a history with fan-favorite Venti.
Dvalin, with his sapphire and violet colors, giant wings, and immense power, would make an awesome addition to the playable characters options, so many dream that one day we could hear from his Banner. Besides, who wouldn’t love to fly around the world of Genshin Impact as a dragon?
4 Glory
Glory is one of Genshin Impact’s many NPCs with a tragic story. She can be found in Mondstadt sitting on a bench. Glory is a blind girl who quickly became a fan-favorite NPC due to her attitude and backstory, plus her dailies are often wholesome.
She may not seem to have much to offer as a playable character, but characters like Toph from Avatar and Daredevil from Marvel have proved that being blind does not impede having immense power.
3 Paimon
Who wouldn’t want the bubbly and out-going “Emergency Food” as a playable character? Paimon is the player’s loyal companion as they travel around Teyvat.
Brutally honest and at times a little annoying, the theories surrounding the adorable Paimon are endless, even her name being a cause of suspicion among players. Does Paimon hide a dark past? Is she a fairy? A demon? A god?
2 Bao’er
To the southeast of the Domain of Forsaken Ruins, you’ll find the NPC Bao’er. Although she tries to pass herself off as an archaeologist, you’ll quickly discover that she is actually a Treasure Hoarder (there are even reasons to suspect that she might be the Boss of the Treasure Hoarders, although this isn’t confirmed).
She has won the hearts of many for her mystique and slightly more elaborate design than other common NPCs. Who knows, Bao’er might surprise fans in the future.
1 Timmie
Haha! I know what you’re thinking, but why not? Timmie is an NPC that can be spotted on the bridge at the main entrance of Mondstadt and is probably the biggest meme among the community, with his well-known sad punchlines.
Lonely, abandoned, and with pigeons as his only friends, it may be time for little Timmie to have a happy moment in his life and mysteriously gain powers that make him earn his Banner. However, he might focus his energy toward taking revenge on those who have harmed his precious birds.
