Genshin Impact is a game with an incredibly unique cast. While some of them have sad backstories, others like Xiangling, are the spirit of optimism. In fact, Xiangling is even more outgoing than the adventurous Amber, and those who know her well can’t help but worry for their tastebuds.

Xiangling may be an accomplished Liyue chef, but her methods of getting there were pathed with destruction; Xiangling is always on the hunt for finding new recipes, and not even the looming threat of a dragon can stop her. There is a lot to digest with this character, but below are some fun facts that every fan needs to know.

10 She Destroys Cooking Utensils

Xiangling is a bit of a destructive force of nature, especially when it comes to experimenting with new ingredients. As many players have found, some of the items that you can collect throughout Teyvat can be a bit dangerous, especially when it comes to elemental flowers.

Xiangling has tried infusing elementary charged items into her cooking only to destroy her wok.

9 Her Father Inspired Her

For those wondering where the young chef gets her love of cooking from, they need not look any farther than her father. Xiangling’s father is an accomplished chef who helps nurture his daughter’s love for the art. He even has put himself on the line by trying out her experiments.

It’s easy to see that Xiangling looks up to her father, and much of her passion for cooking was inspired by him.

8 She Hates “Luxury”

Xiangling is a new age cook who isn’t willing to bend to the traditional notions of what makes a rich dish. Liyue is a country of tradition and wealth that has labeled certain ingredients as luxury items. Xiangling doesn’t think that one should be restricted to such customs.

Instead of forcing on creating dishes with supposive luxury ingredients, she strives to find unique recipes all her own.

7 Her Recipes Can Be Horrifying

Despite being known far and wide as a great cook when the player first meets her, behind the scenes, her dishes can be horrifying. While they won’t kill anyone, Xiangling’s dad knows all too well the horrifying aftermath of eating one of his daughter’s newest experiments.

Those that don’t have iron stomachs are best to steer clear of Xiangling when she’s experimenting.

6 Guoba is Her Partner

Guoba is a living, breathing animal that wasn’t part of Xiangling’s vision. Instead, she met the small animal at a shrine after accidently falling asleep. When she awakened, she found that Guoba had chowed down on some of her spicy food and became a fan of her cooking.

Since the flavorful encounter, Guoba has been more than happy to tag along with Xiangling in her quest to find better ingredients.

5 She is Good With Herbal Medicine

With all the practice Xiangling has had with gathering ingredients, it’s not surprising that she would have herbal knowledge. In order to guarantee that her food wasn’t poisonous and get a handle on adverse side effects, Xiangling had to learn about the herbal properties of her ingredients.

Thanks to this, she is to some degree, able to make herbal remedies for small issues like stomach pains.

4 She Really Likes Slimes

It’s mentioned that slimes are an acquired taste in Teyvat, but Xiangling seems to love them. She isn’t shy about trying to cook slimes in with the rest of her ingredients and loves to place slime based food on her menu. She even seems to have a special recipe for a slime slushie.

It may even be safe to say that the unique taste of slimes is one of Xiangling’s favorites, even if they try their best not to be cooked by her.

3 Her Passion is Overwhelming

Xiangling is one of the most passionate people in Teyvat. Those who know her can tell you about her unlimited enthusiasm and unbreakable spirit. In fact, this was the one thing that most likely influenced her being awarded with a pyro vision, despite the fact she wasn’t in any danger.

Once Xiangling has her mindset on a recipe, there isn’t much that’s going to stop her from making it.

2 She Wants to Sample Everything

Despite the fact that she has already made some of the most unique dishes ever heard of, Xiangling just can’t help herself when trying to find new ingredients. She is almost willing to try anything that sounds like it could be cooked in a pan, including trying to make a steak out of Stormterror.

Luckily, Dvalin was saved before Xiangling got a chance to try and cook him, although she is still sad about not eating dragon steak.

1 Xinyan is Her Best Friend

It’s no surprise that the company Xiangling keeps would also be pretty determined. Xinyan is one of Xiangling’s best friends, and the girls seem to have a strong bond. Xinyan is more than happy to eat anything that Xiangling cooks up and doesn’t ever seem to have any adverse side effects from it.

Xiangling couldn’t be happier to have a friend that loves her cuisine and enjoys talking with Xinyan as she cooks.
