There are a ton of powerful women featured in Genshin Impact, and Beidou is no exception. In the game, NPCs constantly talk about the great things that Beidou has accomplished. She is a celebrated individual who wields a sword for battle and is able to use an electro vision. In fact, one of her most stunning achievements was slaying a hydra without being able to sleep or eat for days. Beidou herself is down to earth, though, and doesn’t see herself as better than those around her.
She also is known to be a friend to the other playable characters, though she doesn’t seem to like Xinyan’s music.
Updated May 20th, 2021 by Jessica Thomas:Beidou is a character that has become increasingly popular with fans due to the fact that she is a powerful woman and an electro claymore user in Genshin Impact. Fans are also curious about Ningguang and Beidous’ relationship since both women seem to be close friends. There is no shortage of interesting Beidou lore in the game, and this will likely only increase when players finally find their way to Inazuma. Below are tons of fun facts about Beidou, like what her favorite food is, whether she likes Xinyan’s music or not, and of course, some tidbits of information about her relationship with Ningguang.
12 She Doesn’t Like Rock-n-Roll.
Beidou may not be a traditional woman herself, but even Xinyan proves to be a bit much for the captain of the Crux. Beidou openly admits that she doesn’t like Xinyan’s type of music, despite the fact that several members of her fleet love jamming out to Xinyan’s concerts.
She does admit that she loves Xinyan’s fiery spirit, though, so maybe the two will end up being friends anyway.
11 Beidou Gossip Is Popular
Beidou is the talk of the town back on land and for good reason. Beidou defeated Haishan, a particularly strong beast, and from that day forward has been both praised and feared through gossip. Beidou even has a rumor about her that says she will kill a man who asks her about sea shanties.
She admits that this is all due to the fact that her crew gets a bit too excited when talking about her on land. There are even rumors that she dared to challenge Ningguang at chess.
10 She Is The Crux Captain
The Crux is the flagship of Liyue and is captained by none other than Beidou. The Crux is a well-known ship around Teyvat, and it takes a lot to run it. The ship sails all over the world and has many crewmates on board that all need to be looked after in order to have a proper crew.
Beidou does all of this with a smile on her face and truly enjoys the time she spends at sea.
9 She Is Feared
Beidou has gotten a reputation due to her feats in battle. Some of the rumors have gone as far as to make her look like a villain, though. While Beidou herself is laid back, some of the people of Liyue believe that she would attack them for simply asking her about some of her quests.
There is also tons of talk about the sword that she carries and her ability to control electricity with her sword.
8 Beidou Goes Out Of Her Way For Others
Beidou isn’t like the rumors say at all; in fact, she is quite the opposite of a hostile person. Beidou is more than willing to go to the rescue of others, despite what country they come from. There are tales of Beidou commanding her fleet to save stranded boats and take care of the passengers.
Beidou also worries for the health of her crewmates and makes sure that newcomers are treated to a drink after their first mission.
7 Ningguang Relies On Her
Ningguang can’t run Liyue all by herself, and she certainly isn’t made for high seas adventures. This is why Ningguang sought out to form a relationship not with the Crux but with Beidou herself. She believes that Beidou is the most reliable ally she can find in all of Liyue.
Beidou also respects Ningguang and is more than happy to strike deals with her. The two also seem to get together from time to time to play chess and have friendly chats. Beidou and Ningguang’s relationship would be the talk of the town if it ever got out.
6 Beidou Loves Xiangling’s Cooking
Beidou isn’t exactly scared to try new things, and she is more than happy to eat Xiangling’s strange recipes. In fact, when she first met Xiangling, she told her to cook whatever she was best at, inspiring the young girl to follow her passion for cooking her own recipes and trying new ingredients.
Beidou even proclaimed to her ship that Xiangling would become a famous chef, which turned out to be true.
5 She Is Good At Chess
While many love to associate Beidou with doing handy work or fighting, she is quite intelligent. She is so intelligent, in fact, that she is able to beat the calculating Ningguang at chess, a feat not many have accomplished. It’s also said that she can do this because she does not fear her.
While this is one of her least-known talents, it just goes to show how talented of a character she is.
4 She Loves To Drink
One of the things that Beidou loves to do in her spare time is to partake in alcohol. In fact, Beidou would probably fit in pretty well in Mondstadt and has likely visited the city to try their wine before. Beidou seems to be more in control than some of the residents of Mondstadt, though, and only drinks in her free time.
You will never catch her slacking off on work like some of the shopkeepers in the free city.
3 She Is A Great Judge Of Character
One of the things that Beidou tells the Traveler about herself is that she is a good judge of character. This can be proven by just listening to her voice lines about the other characters of Liyue. She even could tell that Xiangling was going to be famous when she was much younger.
It’s likely that Beidou is able to easily see through those around her, allowing her to have a more honest crew.
2 Her Childhood Was Hard
Not everyone in Liyue was born in the city and lived in luxury and Beidou’s backstory proves it. Beidou actually grew up poor, and her family had trouble eating on some days. Her family was so poor that Beidou actually had to resort to stealing food in order to ensure that she could eat each day. This likely is the reason that Beidou took a different path from the rest of Liyue’s citizens.
She was treated badly by the merchants in Liyue, although they all now have great respect for the captain.
1 She Hates Cold Food
Beidou may not seem that picky, but she doesn’t like to eat cold food. She prefers all of her meals to be warm and would rather warm up fish than eat a cold dish. It seems that Beidou is willing to go to great lengths to ensure that she can eat a hot meal each day; this also may mean she doesn’t like things like ice cream.
Beidou just wants a warm meal, and for many gamers out there, this is a relatable desire.
