Genshin Impact players have a lot to look forward to this coming week as miHoYo releases its highly anticipated 1.1 update. This update brings with it four new characters players can attempt to snag through the game’s gacha system, with the big prizes being the new five star characters: Zhongli and Childe. Unlike the Sparkling Steps banner, however, players will have their first chance at grabbing two new four star characters, one of which being the Cryo bow wielder Diona.

Diona looks as though she will provide a unique gameplay experience for Genshin Impact players when she arrives on November 11. This is due not only to the fact that she will be the game’s first bow user that utilizes the Cryo element, but also because her abilities are themed after cats and mixology. With both of these themes in mind, players will likely have a fun time using her in combat.

While Diona’s official ability set has yet to be unveiled by miHoYo, players across Twitter have been sharing what appear to be leaked images of her kit. If these images are to be believed, players are in for a very interesting experience when Genshin Impact update 1.1 drops, despite her bow attack being the standard five hit string and charge attack that are common with bow users.

Diona’s Elemental Skill is reportedly called Cryo Kitty Claws. This Skill serves two different functions depending on if the button is pressed or held. If pressed, Diona will fire two Kitty Claws that will inflict enemies with Cryo DMG. However, if the Skill is held, Diona will dash backwards and launch five Kitty Claws. While the Cryo damage promised from these Kitty Claws might be enough for players on their own, they have the added benefit of granting a Cryo shield. This will give players DMG Absorption that scales based off of Diona’s max health, and will gain strength base don how many Kitty Claws hit a target.

While Diona’s Elemental Skill leans heavily towards her cat-like heritage, her Elemental Burst seems to be more celebratory of her bartending background. Rumored to be called A Killer Brew, Diona will launch a cocktail shaker at her enemies that will deal AoE Cryo DMG and creates what is being called a Drunken Mist. Enemies caught in the Drunken Mist will continuously take Cryo DMG over time, while Diona and her allies will regain health while standing in the Mist.

It’s quite likely that Genshin Impact players will want to put Diona in a Support role on their team. Despite her Elemental Burst granting a healing effect to party members, it seems like the character will likely do better in a Support role as she will be able to grant shields on a more regular basis than if she was the designated Healer. That being said, Genshin Impact players seem willing to experiment with their character and party loadouts, so it seems players will just have to wait until they get their paws on her to see what she is truly capable of.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, and mobile devices.
