One of the very first characters players get in Genshin Impact is a bow user named Amber, and there is no shortage of other characters using the weapon. In fact, there is currently an even number of four-star and five-star bow users in the game, with the only missing element being geo.
While it may seem like a support class, a good portion of bow users are actually made for DPS while still retaining abilities that could be worked into a support set-up. This is especially apparent with the four-stars and with Ganyu, who is considered to be one of the strongest characters currently in the game
The new characters even include a group bow user, as well as another pyro and electro bow user for fans to sink their teeth into. While more characters are still expected to come very soon, the list below has all of the current bow users that Mihoyo has officially revealed for the game.
Yoimiya: Explosive Bow User
Yoimiya is a five-star pyro character from Inazuma. She is themed around summer fireworks shows, as can be seen during her elemental burst. She is a DPS character with a heart of gold. During the story events of Inazuma, she is even seen hiding vision bearers in her shop, despite the danger it puts her family in. She also goes as far as having a boat built to help a man she is harboring escape.
Gorou: Geo Marksman
Gorou is a geo bow user who is extremely skilled in combat. He fights under Kokomo for the resistance and is against the Shogun’s vision hunt decree. He is said to be the brawn of the resistance, as can be seen during the group’s clash with Sara in the second story chapter. Like Yoimiya, he seems to go out of his way to help the people of Inazuma.
Sara: Electro Support
Sara is a four-star electro character and the right-hand woman of the Raiden Shogun. Despite her cold demeanor, she seems to care deeply for the people of Inazuma, as can be seen during the Prison domain when she allows the Traveler and Yoimiya to rescue the prisoner and leave without a fight. She is a support character and, like Fischl, has an association with birds.
Amber: Free For All
Amber is a free-to-play pyro user that every player will get at the beginning of the game. She is excellent to use when exploring and has the ability to help the player easily solve pyro puzzles. With that being said, she is one of the weakest characters in the game. Her elemental skill sends out Barron Bunny, who dances to distract enemies before exploding.
Her elemental burst simply rains down pyro arrows on enemies contained within a small AoE area. There are reports that Amber may be buffed in future updates in order to bring her moves up to speed with the rest of the four-stars.
Diona: Heals And Damage
Diona is another Mondstadt four-star that has a cryo vision. She is an excellent DPS character with the power to both summon a shield and heal the party. There are two different parts to her elemental shield. The first summons a shield and shoots out two cryo paws at enemies; for each paw that hits, the duration of the shield is extended.
The second comes from holding in the skill button and sends out five cryo paws and gives the shield a 75% increase to damage absorption. Her burst throws a cocktail and creates a large AoE circle. Enemies in the circle will take cryo damage while characters in the circle will be healed.
Venti: Deals Anemo Damage
Venti is the anemo archon and takes the form of a bard while wandering around Mondstadt. Venti has two different versions of his elemental skill. The first summons a wind domain that will launch enemies caught inside of it into the air and deal anemo damage. Holding the skill button will make the domain even larger and will also send Venti into the air helping him out of danger.
His elemental burst summons a stormeye that pulls in nearby enemies and deals anemo damage. If it comes into contact with any other element than geo, then it will deal even more damage.
Ganyu: Elemental Burst Damage
Ganyu is a five-star cryo character who comes from Liyue. She is a bit more interesting than some other characters as her normal charged attack has a second level that creates a small cryo AoE attack when it hits. Her elemental skill has Ganyu quickly move backward out of harm’s way and summons a cryo blossom that attracts enemies’ attention and will eventually explode.
Her elemental burst users a large pearl to great a huge AoE field where icicles will continuously reign down damaging enemies they come in contact with.
Tartaglia: Offers Versatility
Tartaglia is the eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers and the boss of Liyue’s story chapter. Unlike in his boss fight, though, he only has a hydro vision and not the electro delusion that he uses to transform. He is still a unique character as hitting an enemy with a charged attack places a hydro mark on them. Afterward, shooting enemies with this mark will cause a small hydro AoE attack to form.
Tartaglia’s elemental skill is special as he has two different forms. His ranged form uses a bow, and his burst when in this form reigns hydro arrows down on opponents. His second farm uses water blades for close-ranged combat. Using his elemental burst will give him a hydro field that slashes nearby enemies.
Fischl (And Oz): Potentially Free Character
Fischl is an electro character who speaks in a fantasy language that her bird, Oz, must translate. Fischl is regarded as a top-tier support character and is perfect for helping with elemental reactions. Her elemental skill summons Oz into battle, who will shoot out electro damage continuously at nearby opponents. Oz will stay on the field even when Fischl is switched out for another character.
Her elemental burst lets her take the form of Oz and glide around the field to deal electro damage. After she returns to normal, Oz will stay on the field to deal damage. Fischl has been given out for free in the past, and will likely be easy to get in the future, as well.
