With most players now reaching the end of the Liyue chapter in Genshin Impact, the chances are that they have gotten to test out and add several different characters to their party. Even so, some characters seem to be hyped up to an incredibly overrated degree, while others are pushed aside due to the fact that they have a 4-star rating.

Like as seen with Fischl, though, a four-star character can be even more powerful than a five-star, and they are much easier to pull constellations for. While they may not be able to do some of the flashy gimmicks like teleporting up mountains, there are tons of underrated characters that players need to consider adding to their team.

10 Overrated: Mona

Mona is great, granted you level her up completely, get all the right artifacts, and somehow manage to acquire all her constellations, which may or may not cost you a hefty sum of money. Many players have found that base Mona just isn’t that powerful in a fight, especially if she is used as a player’s main.

Mona is great at controlling the battlefield, especially in co-op, but most players shouldn’t expect her to wipe the battlefield.

9 Underrated: Barbara

Many players love Barbara for being an idol but don’t actually include her on their core team. Barbara is a great DPS character, though, and when equipped with artifacts, can be an effective way of keeping your team going even during the most difficult boss fights.

Barbara has even been giving out for free, and maxing out her constellation is easier to do, especially since when maxed, it can automatically revive a character.

8 Overrated: Klee

Klee is a great source of memes, and she can be handy when it comes to DPS. With that being said, her bombs aren’t always the most useful tool to use against enemies. She is bad against pyro enemies and players who may notice, like Mona, she is a bit weak without the proper preparations.

Klee is a five-star character that some players are expecting to get completely overshadowed in the future.

7 Underrated: Bennett

Bennett is a character that no one seemed to be talking about, especially at the beginning of the game. Bennett was actually a launch character and a pretty strong claymore user at that. In fact, some of the new tier rankings are even putting him at the top of the charts when equipped with the right artifacts.

Bennett is a four-star that is able to fill in the hole for players who are looking for Diluc without giving up any of the power.

6 Overrated: Diona

Diona is a cryo cat-girl bartender who uses a drink shaker in order to help attack enemies. Mix all of that together, and the community thinks that she is one of the coolest characters ever made. While her Cryo ability may make her cool, she really isn’t one of the best bow users in the game.

In fact, characters like Anemo Traveler easily overshine Diona and are completely free to use.

5 Underrated: Xingqiu

Xingqiu is another character who, like Bennett, went unnoticed for some time even though he launched with the game. This book-loving sword user is a hydro element who is able to get up close and personal with enemies, making him extremely useful for close combat against pyro enemies.

Xingqiu is also making his way up the power chart due to the fact that he can be made powerful rather easily.

4 Overrated: Xiangling

Xiangling is a quirky cook who is a fan favorite. Despite being one of the few spear users in the game, though, she really isn’t all that powerful. Her elemental attack is a fire-breathing red panda that is completely stationary after it is launched, which is useless on enemies who tend to move around a lot.

Xiangling is a character that is more targeted towards helping with exploration than dealing with the battlefield.

3 Underrated: Sucrose

Sucrose has been finding a bit of popularity lately, and it’s well deserved. Sucrose is incredibly useful for those who like to control the field but didn’t get Venti or Mona. Her special uses a wind spirit to pull enemies in while also dealing damage to them in the process.

Her burst is a larger version of this that also tosses the enemies into the air, making them an easy target for other characters.

2 Overrated: Ningguang

Ningguang is a character with a beautiful design, but she can be hard to use on the battlefield. Geo users, in general, are more about building up a defense than outright attacking, and Ningguang is no different. Being a catalyst also means that she can only use geo attacks.

Ningguang does have a screen that blocks projectiles, but this can be useless against most enemy types.

1 Underrated: Noelle

Noelle is a great geo alternative that is able to combine the hard-hitting attack power of a claymore user with the defensive tactics of geo. Noelle is a powerhouse when given the right artifacts and can easily chip down shields or push back enemies when in the Spiral Abyss.

Noelle also has the ability to heal the party’s health when she used her elemental skill in battle.
