Genshin Impact’s Version 1.6 update – Midsummer Island Adventure – is scheduled to release on June 9. The highly-anticipated update will add alternate character outfits for Jean and Barbara, a new Archon Quest, the game’s first playable character from Inazuma, and more.

The news of Version 1.6 arrived during the latest Genshin Impact livestream, which offered new Primogem codes and gave a sneak peek at the content arriving early next month. Kazuha – the playable character from Inazuma – was arguably the highlight of the show, as they’ll be the first playable character from the region.

Mihoyo also released a lengthy trailer for Genshin Impact Version 1.6, which you can check out below:

Beyond Kazuha, here’s what you can expect to see over the course of the update which will be available on June 9:

  • Two summer outfits for Jean and Barbara. A re-run of Klee’s Banner. A new 5-star Anemo character, Kazuha. The Midsummer Island Adventure Seasonal Events, which will let you explore a time-limited area in the ocean. New Serenitea Pot Companion Move-In Function. New Archon Quest with clues about how to unlock Inazuma. More Concept Art of Inazuma.

Jean and Barbara’s new outfits – titled “Sea Breeze Dandelion” and “Summertime Sparkle,” respectively – will be made available for purchase using the in-game shop. At launch, you’ll be able to pick them up at a discounted price. As for Kazuha, Mihoyo gave a detailed rundown of what to expect with the new five-star character:

“Kaedehara Kazuha, the first playable character from Inazuma, will also make his debut in Version 1.6,” Mihoyo said. “Wielding the power of Anemo and a sword, Kazuha is a powerful five-star character who can provide strong control and additional buffs to the team.”

Mihoyo continued, “His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can not only deal Anemo damage and effectively control enemies, but also deal additional elemental damage if they come into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro. At the same time, by triggering a Swirl reaction, Kazuha can further buff his teammates with an Elemental Damage Bonus for their corresponding Element.”

Genshin Impact’s free Version 1.6 update will be available on June 9.
