Respawn and EA have announced that next week will mark the start of a limited time event for Apex Legends, and the rewards for participation include new skins for Wraith and Bloodhound, as well as some new weapons skins. In a post over on the Apex Legends website, some of the details of the event were revealed.

It will begin on Tuesday, June 4 and will last for two weeks. The event will offer new challenges and rewards to players.

The first feature is the Apex Elite Queue. Placing in the Top 5 in any match will earn you a place in the elite queue, alongside other Top 5 winners. You will only be put back into the elite queue if you place Top 5 in your previous match.

This is a unique idea and is certain to challenge higher ranking players since playing against Top 5 winners should mean a more difficult match.

The event will also bring with it a set of time-limited challenges, which can earn players new Rare, Epic, and Legendary skins. Details of these challenges have not yet been released. We do know, however, that competing in the challenges can earn you the Master of the Hunt Bloodhound skin and Legendary Hunt themed skins will be rotating through the in-game store every three to four days.

There will also be a chance to earn extra XP. From Friday, June 7 at 10 am PST through to Monday, June 10 at 10 am PST all players will earn double XP on both base and Battle Pass progression. Finishing in the Top 5 will earn you an entire Battle Pass level, although this can only occur once per day.

Finally, players who have the Wild Frontier Battle Pass will automatically get a Legendary Honored Prey R-301 skin. Players who reach Battle Pass level 15 before the end of the event will get the Wraith Night Terror Legendary skin.

Respawn and EA are likely hoping that the limited time event will help Apex Legends bring back some of its players after revenue fell dramatically in recent weeks.
