Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Studio’s recent open world samurai game, is already being received incredibly well by fans and critics alike. The game is also selling very well, as it beat out Paper Mario for the UK’s best-selling game this past weekend.
Despite only having come out earlier this weekend, players are already tearing through Ghost of Tsushima’s beautiful open world. Already, players have discovered a wonderful little easter egg within the game that pays tribute to other PlayStation exclusive titles.
The reception to Ghost of Tsushima has been very positive over the first weekend of the game’s launch. As a gesture of goodwill and thanks, the Ghost of Tsushima developers publicly thanked the members of the official subreddit for the game in a lengthy post. The subreddit itself is filled with discussion surrounding various aspects of the game including screenshots, questions surrounding the game, and even potential secrets and Easter eggs.
On the topic of easter eggs, one Ghost of Tsushima player has discovered an awesome Easter egg after beating the game. No spoilers, but apparently finding the easter egg requires players to finish the game’s main story. The Easter egg in question involves several origami figures lying out on a table. Upon closer inspection, the origami figures all reference PlayStation Exclusive titles. The specific figures reference titles like Ratchet and Clank, God of War, and even Death Stranding.
Like many of PlayStation’s exclusive PS4 titles, Ghost of Tsushima is simply breathtaking. The game is filled with plenty of secrets and new discoveries, surrounded by lush, colorful environments. Players have taken to social media to show off beautiful screenshots taken using Tsushima’s great photo mode. Despite players already having finished the game to discover these sneaky Easter eggs, hopefully, many are still taking time to enjoy the incredible world that Tsushima has to offer.
Sucker Punch Studios is no doubt basking in the warm reception the Ghost of Tsushima is receiving online. Plenty of work went into developing, optimizing, and detailing Tsushima’s open world, which apparently contains over 3 million in-game trees to populate the game’s dense forests. Thankfully, it seems like all of Sucker Punch’s hard work payed off.
Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively for PS4.
