Redditor lys1030 has figured out how to fly in Ghost of Tsushima, but the method has some major drawbacks. For starters, players cannot control the direction they move with this method, making it useless for travel, secondly, it can only be used in specific areas in Tsushima at certain points in the story, and finally, it looks really painful.
Of course, fans of Ghost of Tsushima know that there is no actual way to fly in the game, but depending on how one defines flight, this could count. Lys1030 is able to keep Jin perpetually suspended in the air through the use of Mongol arrows.
This silly trick only works under very specific conditions, and though it is well worth the laugh from watching it, it’s not recommended that players go and try to recreate this madness. There is so much to do even after beating Ghost of Tsushima that doesn’t involve torturing Jin for laughs.
The video shows Jin being repeatedly pelted by arrows to the point where he is unable to land on the ground. Normally, this would kill the player quickly and the arrows would stop, but lys1030 uses a specific, notably broken Ghost of Tsushima build to survive the onslaught. In order to find an area this heavily guarded, players will need to enter an enemy camp which says “Warning! Entering area of overwhelming enemy forces.” A barrage of arrows will then kill the player if they get too close.
In order to survive this and turn Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin into a living meme, lys1030 uses a very specific build which requires the use of all six charm slots. For the two major charms, players should equip the Charm of Fortunate Return in both slots, as these charms provide a chance to regain resolve upon any ability that uses resolve.
The Charm of Silence greatly boosts resolve gains, while the Charm of Fortune 1 and 2 make it much more likely that the Fortunate Return effects will trigger. Finally, the Charm of Resolve 2 further increases Resolve gains. Essentially, almost every time lys1030 uses a resolve to heal himself, he gets back more than he spent.
In this way, he is able to keep himself alive despite the heavy amounts of damage he is taking. The Kensei armor would aid in earning even more resolve, but lys1030 opts to use the Samurai clan armor for its admirable defensive abilities. More likely than not, Jin would not be able to survive without the decreased incoming damage and increased health it provides.
Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively for PS4.
