After months of teasing, Ubisoft is almost ready to add AI teammates to its open-world shooter Ghost Recon Breakpoint. One of the most requested features by fans, the recent coronavirus pandemic had pushed back plans for updates to the game after work-from-home restrictions were put in place.

The update was originally planned to be a part of the 2.0.5 patch that was scheduled for a June release. With the scope of the update having expanded, the addition of AI will be rolled into the 2.1.0 update and is set to hit sometime in mid-July. That’s a bit of a bummer, but at least the feature is still in the cards.

A blog post over on the official Breakpoint website breaks down what fans can expect in the next update. Along with the AI squad, it will feature “quality of life updates,” a new gunsmith update, additional PvP content, and all of the previously announced 2.0.5 fixes. It’s…a whole lot of nothing if we’re being honest.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is in a better place now than at release, but the game still isn’t anything special. The recent Splinter Cell crossover event was fairly unremarkable and even the Terminator raid was lackluster. You may be able to play it like an actual tactical shooter, but Breakpoint is hardly in a place to call it acceptable.
