With the upcoming release of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft announced during its E3 press conference that The Terminator will in the game. Details on the character’s inclusion, whether it be as a pre-order bonus or part of an exclusive mission in-game, is yet to be determined.

This is the second time in two days a major game company has announced the likeness of The Terminator will be used in an upcoming game release. Yesterday during Xbox’s E3 press conference, The Coalition revealed anyone who pre-orders or plays Gears 5 within the first week of launch will receive character models for the movie franchise’s Terminator and Sarah Connor.

It looks like the lead up to the theatrical release of Terminator: Dark Fate, which hits theaters this November, has made way for quite a few cross-over opportunities between video game and movies.  While few details have been shared, it’s confirmed that Ghost Recon Breakpoint acts as a narrative sequel to the 2017 tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands. In addition to the movie crossover that was just announced, actor Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Netflix’s The Punisher), plays the game’s lead antagonist Cole D. Walker. This won’t be the first time Ghost Recon has been involved in a movie crossover either, as Wildlands had its own Predator-themed content update last year.

Story details for Ghost Recon Breakpoint include the setting of Aroura, a remote archipelago located in the South Pacific. Players will have to fight against former Ghost members who have gone rogue, and are led by Bernthal’s character, Walker. This rogue group, called The Wolves, now control the area and all of its technology. The game will be playable both in 4-player co-op or single-player with AI companions.

There was much to take in from this year’s Ubisoft E3 press conference. After confirming the game last week, Watch Dogs Legion received a proper, hefty gameplay trailer before announcing it will release in March 2020. Other announcements include The Division movie being on Netflix, a new subscription service called UPlay, which launches in September, and the reveal of a brand new open-world game Gods & Monsters being work on by the team behind 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint launches on October 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
