Major changes are heading to Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, as Ubisoft has announced a slew of new options being added to its Gunsmith feature.
As part of the 3.0.0 update for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the developer will be streamlining many aspects of the feature, including allowing foregrip compatibility to all assault rifles, shotguns, and submachine guns. New barrels and underbarrels are also being added, each offering unique gameplay elements.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has received several updates since its launch in the summer of 2019. In addition to a collaboration with The Terminator franchise, the game also saw the return of Sam Fisher from Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell franchise. In the latest Ubisoft Forward, it was announced that Sam Fisher would be brought to Rainbow Six Siege, and the inclusion of Fisher brings all three franchises together under one universe.
Earlier this year, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint received the Immersion Mode update that focused on reinventing the style of gameplay from the original release. Immersion Mode provides players the option to remove tiered gear and weapons in an effort to resemble the previous entry in the series, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, alongside other survival and stealth elements like limited HUD interference.
Another addition to the game brought on by Ubisoft’s reinvention was AI teammates in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Though an integral part of the series prior, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint launched with a solo hero and no ability to direct other soldiers. AI teammates bring back a classic feeling to the game, as players can now dictate the approach of a mission by directing other soldiers. It will be interesting to see how an improved Gunsmith feature further helps improve the game.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is available now on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
