During an intermission of Sony’s E3 2018 press conference, PlayStation boss Shawn Layden confirmed that God of War is getting New Game Plus mode. Many fans of the third-person action-adventure franchise may use this new chance to try and discover the one secret that is still hidden in the game, at least according to director Cory Barlog.
God of War was well-received and is arguably one of the best PlayStation exclusives, as it has topped several charts, so this decision to include a popular and asked for mode is understandable. Layden didn’t confirm any other details, but players may expect to hear more soon. Of course, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this popular feature launch soon, but nothing was confirmed about its release either.
Hopefully, this New Game Plus Mode also provides God of War fans with enough sustainable content to last until the sequel releases, in which an environmental artist also spoke of “bigger” combat sequences potentially being done. Until then, however, at least fans will get to relieve the combat in the current God of War whenever this new feature launches.
While some fans may be looking forward to the next game, it’s worth mentioning that God of War has recently broken the PlayStation exclusive sales record, which means this title is here to stay. When the next game launches, it’ll likely do even better than this one, but for now, it remains king of PlayStation exclusives.
Of course, this news was learned during Sony’s briefing, in which several details about other PlayStation games, such as this glimpse at the gameplay and mechanics of Death Stranding, have been made available. Although Sony is rounding off E3 2018 for the day, more news should still filter in over the next couple of days. Stay tuned for more, Ranters!
God of War is available now, exclusive for PlayStation 4.
