Santa Monica’s Raf Grassetti, the art director behind immensely successful PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War has drawn up some stunning Street Fighter fan art, showing off a cool recreation of villain M. Bison via his Twitter account.
Grassetti’s art is revered in the gaming world and he’s probably best known for his Super Smash Bros. Remastered series, one that recasts very realistic depictions of characters from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
He’s gone on to draw up iconic characters such as Star Fox, Star Wolf and various bosses from Cuphead, with a recreation of the Shadaloo’s sinister chief his latest marvel. Grassetti has also announced Blanka and Sagat are up next.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time so I decided to take a stab at it. Street Fighter is something that is close to most of our hearts, including mine,” he wrote in a thread. “You know Sagat and my boy Blanka are coming soon. Concept sculpt in zbrush, final painting done in Photoshop”
M. Bison’s looking pretty regal in the reimagination above, bearing broad shoulders and a smile that does very little to hide his vile intentions.
Of course, this is nothing to be surprised at - the guy was in charge of the imagery in God of War, after all - but it’s definitely worth noting.
