The GOG Galaxy client adds official support for the Epic Games Store. The support for multiple platform libraries in its client is just one policy that GOG has launched to make itself more gamer-friendly, such as its longer game refund window.

In a tweet, the GOG Galaxy account confirmed that the client now has official Epic Games Store integration, an upgrade from the previous, unofficial community-made integrations that users had to get before. This integration will put all of a user’s Epic Games Store titles in one place, next to games from a connected Steam account, those purchased from GOG itself, and other connected stores. As the Epic Games Store keeps giving away free games every week, this integration couldn’t come soon enough.

Now that GOG Galaxy is getting official Epic Games Store support, the client is helping to fix one of the biggest issues that gamers had with the Epic-owned platform. With Epic Games Store exclusive games mandating that fans have to download the Epic client in order to play those titles on PC, desktops have become much more cluttered. The idea is that GOG Galaxy can make managing all of that a little easier.

A solution like GOG Galaxy could be all the more important as new publisher-owned platforms spring up, alongside subscription based offerings. It’s as useful to know what games people own on Steam as it is the newest titles available on Xbox Game Pass.
