Google has announced this year’s winners of the Best of Play awards, and the game that took home Users’ Choice is one of the biggest upsets in recent memory.

The ten finalists for Best Game of 2020 included Genshin Impact, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, Legends of Runeterra, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. However, the firepower of those games was simply no match for SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off – which managed to claim the Users’ Choice Award.

That’s a bit of an upset considering all the fanfare surrounding Genshin Impact upon it’s release, and the fact that it’s a full-fledged console game running on your smartphone. Apparently, the allure of being the best fry cook in Bikini Bottom was stronger than that of exploring the beautiful world of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact did manage to snag the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Game of 2020, so it’s not going home empty-handed.

A few other awards were passed out, including:

  • Users’ Choice Best App: Disney+ Users’ Choice Best Movie: Bad Boys For Life Users’ Choice Best Book: If It Bleeds (By Stephen King)
