Google has been relatively silent in 2020 with regards to Google Stadia. In February, Google announced five upcoming games for the Stadia platform, but since then fans have been anxiously awaiting an update. Google looks ready to do just that, announcing a new upcoming Stadia Connect event airing Tuesday at 9:00 am PT.

Like Nintendo Directs, Stadia Connects are showcases of upcoming games and features for the Stadia platform. Past Stadia connects have taken place at E3 2019 and Gamescom 2019, so they’re meant to be tied to big events. Whether or not that means big news will be coming for Stadia next week isn’t clear, but it’s definitely bigger than the more routing reveals Google puts out through social media.

The only confirmed details for the upcoming Stadia Connect include that a “few new games coming to Stadia” will be shown and that viewers will hear from the Google team. Beyond that, Google Stadia fans will just have to wait for the event to be aired on Youtube.

As for what may or may not be discussed during the Stadia Connect, it’s really unclear. Google could talk about the rollout of the free-to-use version of Stadia capped at 1080p, it could talk more about Stadia-exclusive games, or it could even discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the streaming service. It’ll be interesting to hear Google lay out its plans for the near future.
