The GoPro HD Hero3 is an improvement over its predecessor in almost every possible way. Although we don’t care for the 4K capture, the 120fps 720p option is excellent, quality is great and there are plenty of pro options too. The one hugely irksome issue is battery life, which is far too short per charge, exacerbated by the inclusion of Wi-Fi (when on), while the user interface isn’t particularly user friendly. You’ll want lots of spare batteries, but otherwise the HD Hero3 Black is a mini knockout.
