Despite some minor shortcomings in video quality compared to the full-fat GoPro lineup, the 2018 Hero is still a lot of fun and really easy to use. It’ll make an ideal secondary GoPro for existing users, or a decent entry-level model for first timers - and it’s this latter group which will no doubt be drawn to the more affordable Hero.
