UPDATE (12/16/2020): The event is now live and will run until March 16. Nexon and Ubisoft are partnering for a unique crossover event in Darkness Rises, bringing popular For Honor classes into the mobile RPG. The Darkness Rises X For Honor event begins on December 15 and runs until March 16, so you’ll have plenty of time to check out all the new content. If you’re a fan of For Honor, the big draw in Darkness Rises will be the new character costumes modeled after classes in Ubisoft’s action game....

Frances F. Townsend has been hired by Activision Blizzard to be their new executive vice president of corporate affairs. On top of that, Townsend will also serve as the company’s chief compliance officer as well as oversee government affairs, public policy, and communications, “among other corporate functions.” Which sort of makes it sound like Townsend is in charge of pretty much everything. But from the press release, Townsend will mostly concern herself with Activision Blizzard’s operations in the 200 countries that the Call of Duty and World of Warcraft developer does business in....

L.A. Noire. Despite enthusiastic reviews and strong sales, things soured quickly for what many expected to be Rockstar’s next great franchise. The MotionScan Technology pioneered by Team Bondi undeniably brought a new level of nuance to video game “acting,” but persistent allegations of “harsh and brutal work conditions” dogged the studio, which ultimately closed its doors in October. Now that the dust has settled a bit, L.A. Noire writer/director, and former Team Bondi studio head, Brendan McNamara is back, talking up a new project....

Players are currently scrambling to take advantage of Fortnite’s XP Xtravaganza to earn as much XP as possible. One important step in doing this is waging war on Fortnite’s robots, and not just challenging them to a dance battle. In a three-step challenge, players must find and destroy Fortnite’s Stark Industry Robots, Gatherers, and Gorgers. Each of these mechanical lifeforms is difficult to take down in its own right, and they must be found first....

Fortnite Chapter 2 was a huge landmark in the history of Epic’s Battle Royale. With a completely new map, a new progression system, swimming, and fishing, the update revitalized the smash-hit shooter. Since then, Fortnite’s second chapter has been through two new Seasons, each bringing a fresh host of changes to both the map and game-play. One of the most popular new features is Loot Vaults, which first appeared in Chapter 2 Season 2....

Back in March, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite Battle Royale would be coming to mobile devices. The mobile version of the game would first be made available on iOS devices, the developer confirmed, with an Android release coming at a later date. While Android users were disappointed with the delayed release at the time, it seems that the delay has also led to some Fortnite fans being fooled by scams....

Fortnite will finally make its debut on Android some time this summer and the game’s developers are expecting as many as 250 million new players to join the fight. Despite only recently celebrating it’s first birthday, Fortnite has very quickly become a global phenomenon. The battle royale version of the game is now available on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iPhone, and as of June had been installed an incredible 125 million times....

In true Fortnite fashion, the playerbase is starting to search out and analyze possible clues for the game’s next big event or theme. Although no major hints have been dropped outside of the game yet, the first big in-game teaser may have just been discovered hiding at Polar Peak. Multiple Fortnite users have now reported finding eggs in the game and the community has its fingers crossed that dragons will be hatching and appearing in the Battle Royale mode in the very near future....

Although the initial hype that came along with the release of Friday the 13th: The Game has mostly died down, there is still a core community of players that have stuck with the game. Thanks to big patches and frequent content updates, the slasher title is getting better all the time. From the looks of things in a new trailer, one of the next big updates will give the iconic killer a lot more variety during his hunt around Camp Crystal Lake....

Earlier this week, a controversy occurred when it was announced the World Health Organization (WHO) would classify gaming addiction as a disease by 2022. In response, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) made a statement urging the WHO to reconsider the decision. In 2018, it was decided in similar fashion by the World Health Organization that spending excessive amounts of time playing video games is a mental disorder. As of this week, the WHO has made that decision official and has ensured via unanimous vote that gaming disorder will be added to the International Classification of Diseases, or the ICD....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a veritable treasure trove of delightful details. It seems as though every notable type of furniture item has an associated quirk, from the rotating fans to the pinball machines. Rarer items tend to have more noticeable quirks, such as the Pirate-Ship Cannon, an item that can be obtained exclusively from Gullivarrr. The reviews are in for The Coalition’s Gears of War 4, with praise aimed at the game’s multiplayer and Horde modes, but it doesn’t escape criticism entirely.
