Well, that was fast. It’s been but two days since news broke that cheat provider GatorCheats was being jointly sued by Riot and Bungie for making hacks for Valorant and Destiny 2, and now the site will “shut down indefinitely.” Last Friday, Riot and Bungie filed a lawsuit in California Central District court accusing cheat network owner Cameron Santos of providing illegal software for their respective games. Documents obtained by Polygon noted that GatorCheats in particular was a well-known site that offered a subscription model for its services, charging cheaters between $90 and $500 per month for access to a suite of cheat software, including aimbots, wallhacks, and more....

Genshin Impact features an incredible open world with awesome characters and unique gameplay, but its constantly fettered by its mobile game tendencies. Nowhere is this more clear than with the Original Resin system, one of the most universally hated things about the game. The director of the in-development God of War title for PlayStation 4 responded on Twitter today to a fan’s question regarding a potential Season Pass. Cory Barlog confirmed that the upcoming third-person action game will not be featuring a Season Pass. Barlog doesn’t expound on the topic past that, however, leaving room for the possibility of God of War DLC unrelated to a Season Pass. The likelihood of God of War featuring a Season Pass was never particularly high, but the news will still be refreshing to many game players....

Hitting the early Summer hype train hard, Gearbox and Counterplay Games have begun rolling out a new series of Godfall lore reveals through the Looter Slasher’s Twitter page. The latest reveal gives a look at the Valorplates and the deeper lore into how they allow the player characters to wield the magic and gear that has them progressing through the game. These recent lore reveals began in May with a number of posts to the Godfall Twitter account in the form of cryptic excerpts from a larger Lore book that makes up a sort of in-universe religious text for the game....

Foxy Voxel and The Irregular Corporation are behind the upcoming simulation game Going Medieval. The game is currently in an Early Access phase — far enough along for fun gameplay, but not yet a fully realized game. Going Medieval has a fairly simple premise. It takes place at the end of the 14th century when a devastating plague has wiped out a decent chunk of the population. Players take charge of a group of settlers to help them build a new home from the ground up....

US mobile sports games have seen a spike in interest over the past year with an uptick in spending, culminating in a total of $648.89 million in the last twelve months alone. That’s around the same amount that Justice League grossed. From June 2019 to May 2020, the total amount of money spent on sports mobile games in the US was $559.1 million. The uptick to $648.8 million occurred from June 2020 to May 2021....

Melty Blood is set to return with the first new game in ten years. Melty Blood: Type Lumina will actually be a prequel to the upcoming Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, which remakes the original Tsukihime series of visual novels with updates graphics and an expanded story. While Type-Moon is busy with Tsukihime, co-developer French Bread has taken over duties on Melty Blood: Type Lumina. Both are set to release later in 2021....
