Gaming TV network VENN gets a new trailer and confirms several new shoes ahead of its launch next month. The network was announced in April, as its founders said they planned to make VENN a 24/7 gaming and entertainment network with 55 hours of fresh content a week once it had launched fully. In a launch trailer, VENN confirmed that its programming would be available beginning August 5, 2020. Viewers will be able to watch VENN content on YouTube, Twitch, and “more” for free at launch....

Can’t wait to play Mass Effect 3? Neither can we. In a move that underscores just how big an event the game’s March 6th launch has become, GameStop stores across the United States will open at midnight. Eager fans who find it impossible to wait until Tuesday morning will be able to pick up the game at one of more than 3600 locations nation-wide. Despite taking place in the normally quiet (for games, anyway) month of March, Mass Effect 3’s imminent launch is creating the kind of hysteria normally reserved for big holiday titles....

In the world of Genshin Impact there’s a frigid region just to the south of Mondstadt named Dragonspine. The majority of Dragonspine is a massive mountain that challenges you with its harsh climate as you ascend. Throughout your travels up the mountain you’ll find floating red gemstones that resemble the elemental oculi in other regions. These are called Crimson Agates, and also much like elemental oculi are collected to be offered to an important landmark in the area....

Epic is giving away cash to anyone who downloads Rocket League on the Epic Games Store. Rocket League has gone through quite a few changes since Psyonix was purchased by Epic back in May. First of course, the game was taken off Steam and placed on the Epic Games Store. Existing Steam users could still play Rocket League, but no new players would arrive via Steam. Next, the game removed loot boxes, added a battle pass system, and went free-to-play....

Going Under is another hack-and-slash roguelike game to add to the pile along with other fantastic titles such as the iconic Hades, or the new indie darling Dreamscaper. Going Under (which released its “Working From Home” update this year, along with new costumes as well) is a game full of charm, comedy, corporate nihilism, and a bit of janky-ness. But, there’s a lot about it that players don’t really figure out fully until they’ve already completed most of the game....

Google Stadia’s director of games Jack Buser laid out the company’s roadmap for their releases in the coming years. He mentions that — though most companies are focused on 2021 up to 2022 right now — Stadia will be focusing their attention further ahead, to their larger launches in 2023. Stadia is Google’s flagship foray into the gaming industry, running on PC, Android and Chrome browsers. The platform allows you to play games through the cloud, eliminating long loading and downloading wait times....

Gotham Knights is in development at WB Games Montreal. Set in Batman’s home city after the death of Bruce Wayne, the new game will follow Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin as they try to fight crime and keep the city safe in the absence of the Caped Crusader. All three male protagonists have taken on the role of Robin at some point in their lives, which makes it all the more important that the Robin seen in the game – Tim Drake – is not outshone by his predecessors....

The Final Fantasy series has had plenty of highs and lows, with some titles becoming incredibly divisive between fans, none of which separating the fanbase more than Final Fantasy 13. It is the first and only title to launch during the PS3/Xbox 360 era, thanks in part to the trilogy that was built around the game’s success and the embracing of the series’ primary protagonist Lightning. Unfortunately, Lightning and the other characters of Final Fantasy 13 have taken a bad wrap since the trilogy first launched, due more to the issues players took with the gameplay and convoluted story beats than anything else....

One of the best parts of any MMO is being able to show off your cool loot, hard-earned armor, special accessories, and more — including mounts. Final Fantasy 14 has many mounts that players can collect and use, and some of them take a bit more work to get than others. For example, there are a number of mounts within the game that can only be unlocked by collecting a specific collection of mounts in order to open a new quest....

During Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s ninth chapter, Cloud pays Madam M for a hand massage so that she’ll be inclined to help Aerith get into Don Corneo’s sleazy “wife” auditions, allowing the duo to help Tifa. The player can pick from three different massage courses, but no matter which one they choose, what ensues is a hilarious cutscene that’s also strongly suggestive. Apparently, Square Enix needed to tone down these scenes, or ESRB would have given Final Fantasy 7 Remake an M rating, which would have been somewhat problematic....

The first trailer revealed for Fire Emblem: Three Houses left people with countless questions. As it was the first time in over 10 years for the franchise to return on a home console, the game was expected to be grander in story and characters. Fans were extremely curious about the sleeping manakete sleeping on a chair that has been in ruins for centuries. To represent the young-looking but plot-relevant manakete for the more recent Fire Emblem title, Sothis takes on that role in a cryptic and subtle manner....

Fly Punch Boom! - the upcoming “over-the-top anime action beat’em up from developer Jollypunch Games - has received a release date, and one that comes sooner than expected. On May 28th, Fly Punch Boom! will make its way to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, putting its simple premise with wild battle sequences into the hands of players. In just a couple of days, players will be able to take on up to four of their friends in local or online multiplayer battles, dishing out major damage to each other and - more impressively - the arenas in which they battle....

Former Destiny designer Josh Hamrick confirms on Twitter that after a year at Bethesda Game Studios, he is returning to Bungie, presumably to work on Rise of Iron and Destiny 2. Last year, there was a lot of hand-wringing within the Destiny community when senior designer Josh Hamrick announced that he was leaving Bungie in favor of a new job at Bethesda. Destiny has certainly had its ups and downs since its launch in 2014 but the community had largely credited Hamrick with many of the online shooter’s best qualities, including a lot of the work around the game’s gunplay and sandbox elements....
