Among Us might be one of the biggest games of 2020, but it’s never going to win any awards for originality. Among Us is just one of many attempts to transplant the Mafia/Werewolf party game formula to the video game format, and it’s not the only one to do so with a sci-fi twist. The Jackbox Party Pack 6 contained a game called Push The Button, which had the same concept, but with different execution....

Officially titled Shinra’s Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department, the Turks stand out as some of Final Fantasy VII’s most memorable villains. Although President Shinra doesn’t inspire much loyalty in his subordinates, Rufus gaining control of the family company ends up lighting a fire under the Turks that see them getting in the party’s way time and time again. While the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII would add more Turks into the picture (with the majority debuting in Before Crisis,) the original FFVII only featured five Turks in the game– one of which only a former-Turk and the other absent from the story after Disc 1....

Playing the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles remains one of my favorite childhood memories. I couldn’t wait for the weekend, when I would set off in a caravan with my best friend and his little brother. Square Enix says they are going to remake arguably the finest video game ever made, Final Fantasy VII. Honestly, I don’t think it can be done. For even if they eventually release the game, it’s going to come after being constantly postponed. Even if they get really solid voice actors, fanboys will still rip them to shreds. There’s almost a month left to go until the inevitable sequel to Final Fantasy XIII will hit shelves in North America and Europe. Final Fantasy XIII-2 has seen a lot of trailers and gameplay footage this past month to hype up the (un)anticipated arrival of a game that many fans of the series have mixed feelings about. Due to some extraordinary new features and gameplay videos, we’ve find ourselves more optimistic, although this sentiment is not shared in Japan where first week sales of FFXIII-2 have proven very weak....

The development team of Invisible Walls wants its players to have “a great flight and a good experience aboard First Class Trouble” - an upcoming asymmetric multiplayer survival game where players try to escape a luxury space cruise-liner whose A.I. robots have turned against the humans that they were designed to serve. As such - and with the nature of Invisible Walls being highly driven by community and player feedback - Invisible Walls has shared its development roadmap to keep players in the know as the game heads towards its Early Access release on Steam....

Perception, an upcoming first-person horror game from former BioShock and Dead Space developers about a blind woman exploring a creepy house, gets announced for Xbox One. The Deep End is a studio comprised of developers that previously worked on modern horror classics like BioShock and Dead Space, so it’s understandable that genre fans are excited for its first game, Perception. Perception is a unique horror game where players take control of a blind woman named Cassie who has to solve mysteries in a creepy house....

Fortnite is loaded up with new XP Xtravaganza challenges for players to complete for tons of XP. This week’s XP Xtravaganza includes a challenge where players will have to figure out how to harvest buses and RVs in order to nab 20,000 in-game XP for themselves. Harvesting Buses Harvesting buses and RVs for resources is pretty straightforward: just find an RV or bus and use the pickaxe to destroy it for its materials....

Without a doubt, plenty of Fortnite fans have been enjoying the developer Epic Games’ addition of All-Terrain Karts (ATKs) to the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of the multiplayer sandbox survival title ever since the beginning of Season 5. However, it appears as if the studio has now had to remove all of the vehicles in the game after discovering a bug relating to both the Shopping Cart and ATK. As seen in the tweet below from the official Fortnite Twitter account, Epic Games has stated that the disabling of Shopping Carts and ATKs will only last “temporarily” until it gets to the bottom of what’s causing the bug to occur....

Chinese developer miHoYo unleashed a wave of strong opinions, spicy memes, and a wild TikTok community after releasing Genshin Impact. While some praise the game for following in the footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, others call it an outright clone. A group of fans is breathing new life into Gothic 2, a classic RPG that’s over 15 years old. Gothic II: The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos is a total conversion mod with over 40 hours of content coming to Steam in 2021, built by fans of the original. The conversion mod will be free to download, but you’ll need to own a copy of Gothic II: Gold Edition for it to install properly....

EA reveals a new trailer for soccer sim FIFA 21 and confirms a major new gameplay feature for its FIFA Ultimate Team mode. The new trailer stars French national team and Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappe, who has also been confirmed as the FIFA 21 cover star. Ahead of a full reveal in August, EA has released a FIFA 21 “reveal” trailer. The trailer is not what fans were expecting as it largely features footage of Mbappe and other French national team players enjoying FIFA 21 at home, interspersed with short glimpses of real FIFA 21 gameplay....

After several years of delays, the anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake released in April of this year to much fanfare. And while Final Fantasy 7 Remake received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, surprisingly, the popular RPG hasn’t received a major update since it was released. Since the game’s launch, there have been a few issues that have hampered players’ enjoyment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Usually, major games get updates almost immediately after release or later down the line, but FF7 Remake stands out for its lack of updates, despite some fans looking for tweaks and changes....
