It’s the championship bout that we’ve all been waiting for…and apparently it’s happened before. No, we’re not talking about 1962’s Toho classic King Kong vs. Godzilla, which brought the big ape from Skull Island and the nuclear-powered dinosaur from the Sea of Japan into conflict for the first time onscreen. But as we find out in the first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong — the fourth entry in the modern-day series of films known as the “Monsterverse” — these two gigantic icons of monster mythology have possibly met before…in the distant past....

Last month, Google began to send out invites to its keynote event at GDC 2019 (Game Developers Conference). While the invite was vague and designed to get people talking, popular speculation was that the event was for some major Google gaming project. Today, Google released a new teaser video for the GDC presentation that comes in at just 37 seconds long, with the video featuring zoomed out versions of what appears to be game worlds....

Although there are numerous famous faces in the world of soccer (or football for those international gamers), few could be faulted for not knowing them. The FIFA franchise, for example, has only highlighted a select group of top tier footballers, and continuously put them on the series’ covers. This year, however, things are changing: FIFA 16 is breaking new ground by putting its first female soccer players on the cover. For US gamers, FIFA 16 will feature World Cup champion forward Alex Morgan, while Canadian players will see Christine Sinclair on the box art....

At first, Trent Alexander-Arnold not being picked for England at the most recent international break baffled me. Square Enix has been keeping fans waiting for nine years, yet still hasn’t announced Final Fantasy XV’s release date. While fans have been shown bits and pieces of gameplay and been able to play the Episode Duscae demo hands-on, very little has been revealed about the title that’s been in development for nearly a decade. The original Final Fantasy VII was and is still a highly beloved and most popular title in the series. It had hours and hours of content for fans to immerse themselves in so much so that it led to the now thriving and almost as beloved remake. During the production of the game, the developers had a lot of freedom to pitch as many ideas as they wanted. And while most of them made it to the final release version, a lot of content was understandably cut due to censorship, implementation, or the limited time the developers had to work with....

Much like Part 1’s iconic Honeybee Inn scene, future parts of Final Fantasy 7 Remake will “differ significantly” from the original game. More than a year after Final Fantasy 7 Remake launched, the hype train has been restarted via the arrival of Intergrade. The PS5 upgrade of the game that includes an all-new episode, Intermission. Remake’s co-director Motomu Toriyama recently spoke about what fans of the remade series can look forward to in the future, highlighting that some parts of the story will “differ significantly” when compared to the original game....

It might seem odd that someone as iconic as the creator of Final Fantasy has been dabbling in mobile games over the past few years, but Hironobu Sakaguchi has made a career on attempting to capitalize on what he feels are the most promising areas of the industry. Five Dates is getting an iOS port on Valentine’s Day, Wales Interactive today announced. The popular FMV game follows Vinny as he tries to find love during the pandemic – and is a perfect fit for February 14. This isn’t the first Wales Interactive title to find its way to mobile devices, as last year it brought The Complex to both iOS and Android. Much like Five Dates, The Complex was an FMV game, meaning the framework is there for an excellent mobile port....

Virtual Reality is in no short supply for escape room games, but Flow Weaver might just be the most unique take we’ve seen so far. Announced today from Stich Media and Silverstring Media, Flow Weaver VR introduces spell casting and inter-dimensional travel to the popular puzzle-solving escape room genre. If you’re a fan of games like The Room VR: A Dark Matter or Last Labyrinth, Flow Weaver has many of the same trappings — but with a couple of major twists....

Fortnite is quickly approaching a period of transition. Before the next theme, leaked as Star Wars/Mandalorian, hits the game, players are scrambling to get XP. The XP Xtravaganza event going on in Fortnite is helping players get the XP they need to close out the season. Each week, new challenges are added. This is nothing new, but some of the challenges require more than running and gunning. Such is the case for one of this week’s challenges: driving a semi-truck into Upstate New York and to Stark Industries....

On occasion in Fortnite, there is a challenge that is bugged and cannot be completed. At the beginning of this season, a rare quest appeared, calling for players to destroy “shrubs,” but it didn’t seem to work at first. But players can now chop down bushes for some Fortnite XP after update 15.20. Destroy Bushes Without any clarification, the challenge to “destroy shrubs” might seem a little ambiguous. What exactly counts as a “shrubs” in Fortnite?...

Halloween events are in full swing in many games, and Fortnite is no exception. Players are exploring new areas, battling the darkness, and eating Fortnite candy in droves. Each of the latest challenges in Fortnite revolve in some way around shadows. A couple of these give bonus XP, and one of those gives players a specific task as a shadow. Players must detect other players as a shadow to better hunt them down like a true horror movie monster....

A few days ago, Fortnite fans got their first glimpse at a creator support program for the battle royale game. However, a few eagled-eye fans noted a new tournament tab in the UI of the game in the program showcase. This led to some serious datamining that unveiled loads of info about the forthcoming addition. Apparently, an alpha tournament is set to run from Oct 16 to Oct 21, with several occurring every so often thereafter....

Season 5 recently began in Fortnite, which brought with it a slew of things for players to unlock, regardless of whether they have the Battle Pass or not. Now, a new content update released today will add more to the game, including some new weapons for both Battle Royale and Save The World modes. Epic detailed the Fortnite content update on their website. Two new weapons are being added to the game, while one will be put in the Vault....

Without a doubt, Epic Games’ wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival title Fortnite features a wide variety of different skins and cosmetics, with the studio having recently crafted some with basketball themes to celebrate the beginning of the 2018 NBA Finals. Of course, the hybrid construction shooter’s fan base has also been highly active when it comes to creating a bevy of fun concept outfits of their own, and one player recently took it upon themselves to produce a gorgeous piece of art that imagines what a skin based on Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi would look like....
