Don’t sleep on Foundation, Apple TV+’s excellent adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s once-thought-to-be-unfilmable hard science fiction novel series that chronicles the 1,000-year fall of a galactic empire. The story that was long considered too expansive for Hollywood (although many have tried) finds the perfect home on TV in the hands of creators David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Krypton) and Josh Friedman (Snowpiercer, Avatar 2). They’ve taken the hefty source material that sometimes reads like half-history book half-math dissertation and translated it into an entertaining drama that resembles something closer to Star Trek or Game of Thrones....

Harmonix’s new interactive music game, Fuser, is looking to put players back in the center of large-scale concerts while focusing on music mashups. Today, Harmonix announced that Fuser has gone gold and detailed the bonus set list for fans purchasing the VIP Edition of the game. Fuser puts players in control of the music as they take parts of different songs and mash them together during a festival performance. Harmonix has been hyping up how Fuser’s gameplay can turn any player into a DJ for a virtual crowd or their friends....

The crowdfunding site Kickstarter has long been a place where all types of games found new life - from reviving old games to developing entirely new ideas, Kickstarter has been at the cornerstone for a new type of development. This year has been no different, with the platform boasting an increase in total successful Kickstarter campaigns over 2019. Some may have thought that the global pandemic might have made people warier of backing Kickstarter projects, having to keep spending tighter and budgets closed, but the opposite seems to have borne out....

Yesterday we reported that Sony had filed a patent for technology that would allow future devices — most likely the PlayStation 4 — to reject used games. Though many did not know such a technology was available, it did seem like a logical step in publisher’s ongoing battle against used game sales. And, regardless of if the technology ever ends up making its way into the PS4, it appears that Sony has dealt a sizeable blow to one of the major purveyors of used games, GameStop....

Many Animal Crossing: New Horizons players booted up their game on October 1 to find a letter from none other than the czar of Halloween himself: Jack. Players can find a portrait of the spooky character attached to this letter that can be placed as a wall decoration in their house in the game. Some may not be aware, however, that if you put the portrait on display and turn off the lights in the room, a faint glow can be seen emanating from the painting....

Genshin Impact’s Irodori Festival brings with it several event-specific game modes that players can try their hand at, including the third reincarnation of Theater Mechanicus. Theater Mechanicus has historically been one of Genshin Impact’s most popular mini-games, so it’s great to see it make a return during Inazuma’s festivities. The beloved tower-defense mode features a slew of new features that make this version significantly distinct from its previous iterations. This version of Theater Mechanicus arguably plays out more like a puzzle game than a tower-defense game, with your initial selection of towers and buffs being extremely critical to your success....

Xiangling is a fun character who has just as much energy as the hydro idol Barbara. Xiangling is one of the free to play characters in Genshin Impact and is given out just for beating floor 3-3 of the Spiral Abyss. She is a four-star pyro polearm user, who many players have taken to using in battle. She is also legendary for exploration since she has been known to torpedo herself across the Teyvat sky....

Genshin Impact is just hours away from its next major update, Version 1.2. The literal game-changer is set to introduce a whole new region, Dragonspine, in addition to quests, events, playable characters, and more. Although Travelers have had a steady source of leaks and announcements detailing the Version 1.2 features, Genshin Impact has still managed to retain some of its secrets. For example, players are now even more confused about previously leaked character Rosaria, who seems to have been quietly extracted from the game’s data, after being discovered earlier this fall....

God of War is easily one of the biggest PlayStation 4 games slated for release in 2018. Even though it’s expected to release within the next six months, though, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the game. Game director Cory Barlog has now revealed a lot more information about the new God of War by answering 102 rapid-fire questions. Game Informer’s Joe Juba sat down with Barlog to ask him 102 questions....

Gods and Monsters, Ubisoft’s open-world fantasy game, has yet to make an appearance during this summer’s wave of online reveals and announcements. A random mishap that saw an alpha version of Gods and Monsters briefly available on Stadia has prompted Ubisoft to talk about the game, however. In quite the surprise, Ubisoft says that Gods and Monsters has dramatically changed since it was first shown during E3 2019, to the point where Ubisoft has even renamed the game....

Every week, Fifa 21 players are excited to see what new in-form players will be available in packs. Players are always hopeful that they will get the highest-rated in-form and be able to sell it on the market. For most players, the highest-rated in-forms are just too expensive to use. However, there are dozens of in-forms that sell for under 20,000 coins, which is a reasonable price for most clubs. These lower-rated in-forms may not be in the best league, or have big-name appeal, but they can be just as good as their higher-rated counterparts....

Square Enix releases a bonus scene from Final Fantasy 15 Kingsglaive that features every fan’s favorite octopus getting himself into trouble once again. Square Enix pulled out all the stops in 2016 in its promotion for the November release of Final Fantasy 15. The marketing plan included the creation of several side projects that served to flesh out Final Fantasy 15’s story, like the animated Brotherhood series and a feature-length film called Kingsglaive....

Final Fantasy 9 released for the Playstation in 2000 and sold extremely well. Many fans considered it to be a return to the franchise’s roots in more ways than one, but particularly as the game went back to a more medieval setting, whereas the more recent titles such as Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 had opted for a futuristic sci-fi setting. The game featured eight different characters that players could have in their party, not including temporary party members....

Although its story may be a little underdeveloped, Final Fantasy XV does a fantastic job of fleshing out its main protagonist. Few stones are left unturned when it comes to Noctis, with both his background and the relationships with those around him explored in great depth. Despite this thorough character development, however, there are still plenty of facts about the young Prince that many fans aren’t aware of. Having originally started life as the main protagonist of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Noctis went through many changes before being finalized in Final Fantasy XV....

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for one of their new original series, The Nevers. Coming to HBO Max in April, The Nevers is a sci-fi drama set in Victorian-era London where many people, mostly women, suddenly manifest abnormal abilities. The trailer for The Nevers opens with a man expositing the premise of the show over footage of various people with supernatural powers; “It came three years ago. A power that mocks God....

During its press conference on Monday, Ubisoft revealed the trailer for For Honor’s newest expansion: Marching Fire. The trailer is entirely cinematic, and features a female knight fighting through waves of enemies before being introduced to a brand new faction of Chinese warriors. After the trailer was finished, developers came on stage to explain some details about the newest expansion. For Honor: Marching Fire will be releasing on October 16th, and will be bringing four Chinese warriors as well as a new game mode: Breach....

Weekly challenges for Fortnite season 8 week 6 are out now, with players required to visit the 5 highest points of elevation, search where the knife points on the loading screen, find a wooden rabbit, a stone pig, and a metal llama, and more. While Fortnite fans still have their usual weekly challenges to complete, they also have the special 14 Days of Fortnite challenges to conquer as well. Each day, the 14 Days of Fortnite adds a new challenge, with one of the latest ones being to search waterside goose nests hidden around the battle royale map. Fortnite players have to find a total of six waterside goose nests if they hope to complete the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges, and while that may seem like a lot, it’s actually pretty easy....

Fortnite is no stranger to themed events to celebrate holidays and big days, and it looks like a new one is right around the corner. Fortnite is going to be ringing in the new year. If a Fortnite leaker is to be trusted, fireworks are coming to Fornite in an in-game event, and Fortnite leaker @InTheShadeYT has given fans the footage of what it looks like.
