Square Enix took a chance on the Nintendo Switch by releasing a classic-style JRPG called Octopath Traveler as an exclusive for the console. Both Square Enix and Nintendo underestimated Octopath Traveler, and it went on to sell over 1 million units worldwide. Now that Square Enix knows there is an audience for its games on Nintendo’s handheld/home console hybrid, it’s announced that Final Fantasy 7 and a host of other Final Fantasy games are coming to the Nintendo Switch in the coming months....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake fans rejoice - Intergrade has fixed the original’s infamous door texture. A post on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Reddit shows the new door texture with an off-screen screenshot. Considering the game isn’t out until next week, the Redditor that posted the photo seems to have an early copy. In the original release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you’d likely have been in complete awe of the game’s graphics until you came to Midgar’s slums and were shown to your room by Tifa....

It’s happened to everyone at some point while playing FFXIV. You’re concentrating on your rotations, doing your best to stay alive in a trial, when it happens: you see a red dragon line running between you and the party’s Dragoon. You’ve been chosen. You feel your heart start to flutter, your hands start to sweat, as you think to yourself: what are we? You try your best to make the most of the Dragon Sight buff, to prove that the Dragoon chose well— and, inevitably, when the time runs out and the tether fades, you can’t help but feel a little disappointed....

The second set of challenges for Fortnite’s Halloween event, Fortnitemares, have gone live and are very similar to the first set of challenges. The first set was rather vanilla in terms of difficulty but also required players to hunt down and dance at different Gargoyles. Now, the second set is very similar but, like the first, also includes a more difficult challenge. Ever since Season 4 started, the Fortnite battle royale map has slowly been adding more locations based on Marvel Comics. The latest addition to the Fortnite battle royale map is Collector’s Museum, which can be found near the Catty’s Corner Point of Interest on a snowy mountain. Collector, for the uninitiated, is an Elder of the Universe, who is obsessed with collecting rare artifacts as well as living creatures. In the Marvel comics, Collector has even attempted to add the Avengers to his collection on more than one occasion....

While one player, Kelsey Lewin, was looking through GameStop’s website last night, she noticed something strange....

Friday, brick-and-mortar video game retailer GameStop announced it would be joining other retailers like Walmart in requiring customers to wear a mask. But rules and mandates are only effective when and if enforced, with GameStop employees reportedly still unable to refuse service to customers who enter without one. As many know, several states are seeing resurgences in the virus, leading many states to enforce mask mandates. Several retailers have taken it upon themselves to do the same, including GameStop....

Ryan Cohen, the entrepreneur behind Chewy.com, hopes to change what seems to be the inevitable death of GameStop by focusing on the e-commerce industry. The company saw a 52 week high in stock prices after the Bloomberg report detailing Cohen’s plan was published. While the new consoles attribute to the surge, investors seem to be buying what Cohen is selling. Cohen also hopes to expand GameStop’s online presence by offering an online trade-in system and more game-streaming services....

Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, and the skateboarding series as a whole, is game beloved by many for its perfect blend of bringing skateboarding into the mainstream while having its own whacky charming character. Neversoft struck a chord with so many players that this game brings a rush of nostalgia to nearly anyone you mention it to, and makes them pine for a true successor that is not half-baked. The love for the game is deep, and it’s a classic that still holds up, with many fans still playing the game today....

Spoilers for Gangs of London to follow The first season of crime drama Gangs of London arrived all at once on Sky Atlantic and Cinemax with a bang. Allegiances were formed and broken, the body count was high, and those who did survive until the final episode were left in limbo. Gangs of London series 2 has yet to be officially announced, though it seems like a definite possibility given the buzz around series one – THR reports that talks are in progress after the show became Sky Atlantic’s most binged of the year, and second biggest original drama launch ever, after Fortitude....

Ley Line Outcrops are an important and direct way of both leveling up your Genshin Impact characters and quickly accumulating in-game wealth. Through defeating them and claiming their rewards, players can gain crucial character experience materials or Mora, making Ley Line Outcrop clearing something to consider adding to your regular play rotation. There are two types of Ley Line Outcrops - Blossoms of Revelation, represented on the map as a circle icon of blue that rewards character exp materials, and Blossoms of Wealth, a circle icon of gold that rewards Mora....

Well, kind of, he’s there briefly in one user’s game until they log off, then he’ll probably be back to roaming aimlessly about the city gates. For a little context, Godwin is an NPC in Genshin Impact who’s part of the Knights of Favonius....

Ghost of Tsushima has a lot of content to explore, some more crucial to the storyline than others. The lighthouses are a unique combination of the two, with some acting only as a way to spread the legend of ‘‘The Ghost’’ to the citizens of Japan and some playing an important role in the main storyline. Always located on the coast and in some of the more secluded areas of the map, lighthouses aren’t laid out for the player, either requiring some serious dedication or inside knowledge of their whereabouts....

Following a lengthy development cycle, Sucker Punch scored another major hit when it released the open world action game, Ghost of Tsushima in July of 2020. Scoring well with critics and fans alike, the title won multiple end of year awards and went on to become a best seller on the PlayStation 4.
