The Godfall team revealed an extensive gameplay preview of the upcoming PS5 title during Sony’s latest State of Play event and shed some light on how this exciting title will distinguish itself from some considerable competition. While much of the latest preview focused on Godfall‘s combat mechanics, the star of this show was the game’s five main weapon types: Dual Blades, Longswords, Polearms, Two-Handed Warhammers, and Two-Handed Greatswords. As you might imagine, each type of weapon will handle differently than the other....

Gag reels in game credits have been a dream of mine for quite some time, but the work required to make them happen isn’t likely to be a great incentive for game developers. Obviously to animate a gag reel would end up being a complete waste of man-hours, that is if the facial animation wasn’t rendered in real time. In a game like L.A. Noire, for example, the MotionScan technology allowed developer Team Bondi the ability not just to animate the final in-game cut scenes, but those that actors flubbed a line or made a mistake....

FIFA 21 is highly anticipated by soccer fans but it has a difficult task upon release. While the FIFA 21 has the licenses to the vast majority of players and teams which has helped it become the dominant soccer franchise, it has also faced a huge amount of criticism in recent years. Some players feel that the career mode of FIFA has been disappointing and others have cited issues with the online servers....

Nintendo Switch owners are now in for a slightly better time when playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered. The game’s 1.02 patch is ready to download, and it shaves a few seconds off of multiplayer sessions by allowing cutscenes to be skipped. It also fixes a few bugs. The changes are welcome, and do make good on an earlier promise by Square Enix, but still don’t entirely make Crystal Chronicles Remastered worthy of its title....

You’ve probably heard people hyping up Final Fantasy 14 to an endless degree by now. I wasn’t convinced of its majesty at first, but after finally relenting a couple of years ago and deciding to plough through the main scenario quests, I was greeted with one of the greatest storytelling triumphs in gaming history. While the MMORPG is still underpinned by an ageing engine and technology, Square Enix has done a beautiful job at constantly pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with the game....

It appears that Final Fantasy fans won’t have to wait quite as long for Final Fantasy 16 as we initially thought. According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, Final Fantasy 16 is “coming sooner than people think.” Speaking on the Triple Click Podcast — with co-hosts Kirk Hamilton and Maddy Myers — Schreier provided some inside information pertaining to the development of Final Fantasy 16. He confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 has been in the works for “at least four years," citing anonymous members of the studio he had spoken with, before noting that the game is due to launch far sooner than people may have originally anticipated....

Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise have an exciting year ahead. Square Enix announced that the newest chapter, Final Fantasy 16, should be released before the end of 2021. As we patiently wait for more updates, it was revealed by the game’s producer that this installment would be “action-orientated” and support less-skilled players. Speaking to Nova Crystallis’ senior editor Tony Garsow, producer Naoki Yoshida was invited on a recent radio show to discuss Final Fantasy 14....

When Final Fantasy 15 was launched to critical and commercial success last November, one aspect that was warmly-received by critics and players was the open-world, which was one of the largest settings in a Final Fantasy game to date. With such a positive reception to this new change in direction, Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata suggests that future installments could follow a similar route. As an artist, one of the greatest joys is seeing one’s hard work in a polished condition, and that is a joy that Briana White was able to experience earlier this week. White is the voice actress for Aerith in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and while playing through the game she had a heartwarming moment. The moment in question is when Cloud first meets Aerith towards the beginning of Final Fantasy 7 Remake....

Final Fantasy VII Remake goes to great lengths to say that the future entries in the series aren’t bound to the story of the original game. This means that events no longer have to play out in the same way that they did in ‘97, which means that Aerith could be spared from her fate at the hands of Sephiroth. If the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is going in a new direction with its story, then it will have to shake things up in order to justify basing the first game around defying fate....

MMORPGs can be a real daunting task for many players. They not only require a ton of hours to get to a comfortable spot, but they have a monthly cost associated with them. For $15 a month (typically speaking), you can escape your real-life and live in a fantasy world with nearly endless amounts of content. It’s not bad for the price, but it is a lot to ask upfront....

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players jezayyyy and woldes managed to make their way to the finals of the 2020 Red Bull Flick finals in Finland, where they came out victorious over their opponents. The win would catapult them on to the EU Closed Qualifier, potentially setting them up to take on professional teams in the world final. Except they won’t. It turns out they cheated. Now, jezayyyy and woldes are banned....

Five Nights at Freddy’s World creator Scott Cawthon is apologizing after community backlash regarding various faults in the RPG, and says to expect new features soon. As far as ranking the unexpected goes, seeing the developer of the Five Nights at Freddy’s apologizing for not giving a game enough development time rates quite well. Yet that’s exactly what has happened today, as Scott Cawthon took to his Steam community and apologized for the current state of his RPG, Five Nights at Freddy’s World (FNaF World)....

The Game Awards pre-show is going to have five world premieres this year. Hosted by Sydnee Goodman of IGN fame, the opening act of this massive celebration of video games as a medium looks to be just as exciting as the show itself. Goodman hosted the pre-show for last year’s Game Awards, too, voicing her excitement over returning to do it all over again this year. “Stoked to be back,” Goodman stated on Twitter....

While Ubisoft revealed some new games that were coming out in their E3 2018 press conference, the studio also announced that it was still supporting current games. One of those games being For Honor, which will be receiving an update this fall that will add new content. The new content update coming to For Honor is titled Marching Fire and will add four new warriors from the Wu Lin faction, which are based off Chinese warriors....

Not to be confused with Necrons, the undead race of conquerors from beyond the stars in Warhammer 40K, Necroids are… an undead race of conquerors, but this time in the Stellaris universe. See? Totally different. Announced last week for a release just in time for Halloween, the Necroids Species Pack brings yet another add-on to spice up the Stellaris experience with some zombie love. Sort of. We’re not entirely clear on the mechanics of the Necroids, but judging by the new species Origin shown in the trailer, it seems like there’s at least something alive but deathless that is reanimating a bunch of dead husks to do their bidding....

America is in turmoil as Trump supporters have stormed the Capitol, pushing Washington DC into lockdown and delaying the transferal of power. In light of this, many have flocked to Twitch and seemingly, by mistake, subbed to the wrong Trump - a Hearthstone player. TrumpSC, or Jeffrey Shih, is a former professional Hearthstone and former professional Starcraft II player. As of writing this, his follower count is nearly 1 million, sitting at 819,000....

Season 6 of Fortnite has now entered Week 3, bringing with it a few additions to the game such as the quad launcher and the Disco Domination LTM. Of course, one of the mainstays from week to week is the addition of more challenges to season’s list. Week 3’s challenges went live today, and here is how to complete each one. It’s worth mentioning that the first set–that is, the Free Challenges–are available to every Fortnite player....

Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games and it seems that the developer, Epic Games, has plenty of ideas of how to keep the game fresh. There are a large number of players enjoying the game, and since Fortnite became available through Google Play there have been even more players trying the title. There is now more content for players to experience and it will be sure to be a hit with players who would like to experience the game peacefully....

Friday the 13th: The Game co-creator Wes Keltner describes his ideas for a single-player campaign for the title, revealing that it could still happen in the future. Friday the 13th: The Game has netted plenty of praise from gamers and critics alike, ultimately securing its spot as one of the best horror games shown during E3 2016 and as one of the most eagerly awaited horror titles of 2016. While the game has offered a terrifying multiplayer mode, an option to play the game solo has been absent, but the developer isn’t taking the idea off the table just yet....
