2013 brought with it a wealth of fantastic new games and we’re definitely feeling a little spoiled, but the year is over and gamers are already hungry for more. Luckily the release schedule for 2014 already boasts some exciting and enticing titles - both new installments in well-loved franchises and brand new IPs for the new console generation. Some of these are sequels that we’ve waited years for, others stood out thanks to eye-popping trailers and others are just too ambitious to ignore....

GameStop, which has been struggling to keep its brick-and-mortar stores afloat, announced earlier this week that it would close between 400 and 450 stores this year. The gaming retailer has also said that it expects even more closures next year. In March, the company stated it was planning to shutter roughly 320 stores by year’s end. However, as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, a growing number of consumers have shifted to online shopping....

Fallout is an absolute gem for the RPG (and sometimes strategy) genre. The series brings a lot to the table with memorable characters, and some of the best dialogue in gaming. Fallout Nevada is a total conversion mod of Fallout 2. Before becoming the well known first-person/third-person shooter RPG, Fallout was a top down turn based RPG. The older titles went more into the difficulties of surviving in the wasteland. Fans of those games will experience a much more difficult, story driven game compared to other titles in the series....

Genshin Impact has many interesting characters, although not all of them are playable. Flora is a young girl who eagerly attends to her flower shop near Mondstadt’s front gate. She is a great source for level-up materials for players who need the flowers in her shop. She is also an important part of Mondstadt and is involved in multiple quests inside the city. In many ways, Flora is one of the most used NPCs in town, and who knows, she might even find a vision of her own in the future with how passionate she is about her flowers....

Final Fantasy 15’s Episode Prompto DLC is a succinct example of everything that the game has encompassed so far - a dizzying blend of several different game genres, executed to varying levels of proficiency. When Episode Prompto is good, it is very good, and when it is bad, it can be reminiscent of the infamous Chapter 13 from Final Fantasy 15’s main narrative. Still, while a somewhat bungled launch of Episode Prompto for PSN users might have marred the hype surrounding the expansion a little, it remains a breath of fresh air for a game that has proven to have plenty of life left after its main story content has been completed....

You earn Scrips by turning crafted and gathered collectables in at Scrip Exchanges. Scrip Exchanges are located in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, Ul’dah, Mor Dhona, Idyllshire, Rhalgr’s Reach, Eulmore, and Radz-at-Han. Scrips can be exchanged for exclusive tools, gear, crafting materials, and more, so players determined to max out one or more Disciples of the Hand or Land will want to get acquainted with them as soon as possible....

Square Enix unveils the debut gameplay trailer for their upcoming action RPG NieR: Automata, showcasing a frenetic combat style and grungy steampunk environments. The video, which was shown as part of a stage presentation at Paris Games Week, provided new details regarding Square Enix and developer Platinum Games’ sequel to NieR, a PS3 and Xbox 360 cult classic. The gameplay definitely features an action style reminiscent of other Platinum Games projects like the Bayonetta series, while the soundtrack captures a similar feeling of desperation and unease that characterized the first NieR game and made it such a distinct entry into the genre....

Debuting earlier today and bringing with it tons of announcements, the Nintendo Indie World Showcase gave avid fans of independent video games on the Switch tons of new release dates to look forward to. This year has proven challenging for several studios, but Ubisoft’s For Honor has seemingly made the best of things. Despite a turbulent fourth year introducing a divisive Core Combat Update and the Warmonger character, For Honor has delivered on its promise of a year full of content and support. The latest addition to the game’s now-29-hero collection of stylized medieval warriors comes from For Honor’s developing lore: Gryphon, a returning character from the game’s campaign....

Tanglewood Games Studio, which includes developers from Epic Games and Rare, is working on a new first-person shooter, John Carter: Warlord of Mars. The team is planning to begin a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter on April 19 and has found a publisher in FNCPR. John Carter: Warlord of Mars is an upcoming FPS based on the sci-fi novels of The Martian Series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The story follows a soldier, John Carter, who finds himself on Mars....

The latest Fortnite v6.20 update ushered in Fortnitemares 2018, a Halloween-themed event that has plenty for players to accomplish.
