Pokimane’s Twitch channel will be the venue for the first community-organized tournament for Riot’s recent Auto Battle release, Teamfight Tactics. During the PC alpha for Ubisoft’s For Honor, one player breaks the non-disclosure agreement to reveal that the game will not have dedicated servers for multiplayer. At the moment, For Honor’s alpha test is live for a small number of PC players, but the situation might not turn out to be as successful as the previous alpha due to certain discoveries about the title’s multiplayer coming to light. As it happens, one player went on to break their non-disclosure agreement signed with Ubisoft to reveal that For Honor will not use dedicated servers for its multiplayer....

Ubisoft reveals its upcoming hack and slash title, For Honor, will offer all DLC maps and mode to players for free, though it will still have microtransactions. When Ubisoft first revealed For Honor a couple years ago, the gaming community was excited for the unique, fresh take on close-quarter combat. Since then, the community has experienced a roller coaster of emotions as Ubisoft released additional details about the game. The latest disappointing move on the part of Ubisoft is its decision to require a constant Internet connection for the game, including the single player....

Fortnite’s Season 5 is now in full swing, with players across the multiplayer sandbox survival shooter’s supported platforms currently exploring all of the changes that have been brought to the title. Of course, there will always be some who are keen to learn about what’s coming just around the bend for the free-to-play Battle Royale release. Fortnite’s long-running purple cube meta event has come to its conclusion. The purple cube, which has been traveling across the Fortnite map since it arrived in late August, has dissolved into Loot Lake. The lake’s surface has now transformed into a gigantic bounce pad, featuring the same digitized look of the purple cube’s sides. For now, it appears that Loot Lake will remain transformed into a giant purple bounce pad on Fortnite’s live servers....

Epic has revealed that 15.3 million players logged into Fortnite to watch Galactus arrive on the island, eclipsing the game’s previous record. The curtain was brought down on what might have been Fortnite’s most successful season to date this week. On Tuesday evening, after a season-long tease, supervillain Galactus arrived on the island with the intention of consuming it. During the accompanying live event, players logged into the game to team up and try and take down Galactus before he destroyed Fortnite as we know it....

When Forza Motorsport 7 was released last year, the game received significant backlash over its loot system. The racing game allowed players to use its CR currency to purchase randomized boxes of unlocks including cosmetics and mods (to earn more CR in races). Some called the game “pay to earn” (a riff on “pay to win”) and asked developer Turn 10 to change the system. Turn 10 did make some tweaks to the game just after launch, including changing the VIP bonuses included with VIP memberships to make them more valuable, thus allowing players to earn more CR....

In Frostpunk, you’ll have to micromanage a group of characters and help them survive under awful (and freezing!) conditions. From how much they work to what they’ll eat, everything is up to you. To keep these people from dying, one of the first things you’ll need to do is send them to gather valuable resources like Coal, Wood, or Steel. The problem? These guys are human, meaning they will get sick, get cold, and probably shouldn’t work 24 hours shifts....

The latest and greatest Battlefield 3 trailer to be released by the folks at DICE is returning to the single-player campaign, with more of a focus on the infantry side of the house once again. Like every other Battlefield 3 trailer released, this one will leave you wishing for more. Definitely of note about this particular trailer is that the footage is derived from Xbox 360 footage. So those of you who had doubts about how good BF3 would look on a console can go ahead and squash those fears....

GameStop is planning to change its controversial Circle of Life program in the coming days, according to numerous store managers. While the program will continue for the gaming retailer, the reported changes should lessen the pressure placed on individual employees and improve the success of each retail location. Though the first generation of Pokémon games are notable for their glitches, there is one near the beginning of Pokémon Yellow that many fans never noticed, as one of the trainers in Viridian Forest cannot approach the player for a battle. In the Pokémon series, the player must make their way through the world and battle enemy trainers. According to the in-game explanation, trainers must battle if they lock eyes. In mechanical terms, this means that crossing the path of an enemy that is facing the player will cause a battle to occur....

I adore living in a four season climate, but if we could skip summer I’d be all for it. I hate hot sticky August weather as much as I hate canned parmesan cheese and choke chain dog collars.
