One day it’ll be safe to play tabletop games in person again. When it does, I’ll have a wicked set of monsters to throw at my TTRPG players. I have WizKids to thank for that, as the tabletop figure company has been putting out a steady stream of quality releases. The Rime of the Frostmaiden set gave us the Snowy Owlbear, a contender for best D&D monster. That was followed up by Fangs & Talons, a celebration of the big boss monsters of D&D....

A Fallout 4 modder releases a new mod for the sole survivor’s canine companion Dogmeat, giving him a customizable backpack that increases his inventory space. Companions in Fallout 4 can lend a helpful hand in combat, but many players bring them along purely because of their ability to carry excess equipment, items, and junk, lightening the sole survivor’s load. Dogmeat can also carry the sole survivor’s equipment, although how exactly he’s carrying any of it is unclear....

Gotham Knights will have four playable characters: Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin. It’s already been confirmed that players will be able to play through the entirety of WB Games Montreal’s upcoming title as just one of these characters as they race to take down the Court of Owls after the death of Bruce Wayne. Each of the four available player characters in Gotham Knights will come with their own powers....

John Gotti got his nickname, “The Teflon Don,” because it took forever for lawyers to get charges to stick. Armand Assante, the actor who played the iconic New York City outlaw in HBO’s original crime film Gotti: The Rise and Fall of a Real Life Mafia Don, is also in for the long haul. Assante will reprise his role in the upcoming Gotti Il: The Final Chapter, Facts Undisputed, it was announced at the event “Gotti: The Reunion,” which kicked off the MobMovieCon and SopranosCon weekend at Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City....

Following a protracted development period lasting nearly a decade, multiple direction changes, and a last minute release date delay, Square Enix has announced what Final Fantasy fans have been waiting to hear for many years - Final Fantasy 15 has finally gone gold. In a new tweet on the official Final Fantasy 15 Twitter page, the game’s newly-minted gold status was announced as the first major piece of news to come out of the Final Fantasy panel at the Paris Games Week event....

Final Fantasy VII was a landmark title that established the series as one of the greatest gaming franchises around and set the stage for the PlayStation to be dominated by a wave of amazing JRPGs. Those of you who have finished Final Fantasy XV and want to continue the adventures of Noctis and his friends are in luck, as a new skin is available for almost every version of Minecraft that brings the two games together. Treyarch teased a new map earlier this week and finally, the name has been dropped with a release date. Firebase Z is coming on February 4, ending the first season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It seems to confirm the leaks and rumors that the new map is set in Vietnam. As seen in the picture Treyarch released, the new zombies seem to be donning Omega attire, those pesky guys that activated Projekt Endstation (Die Maschine) after the Nazis left....

While it is often ill-advised to bring a sword to a gun fight, that is not the case with Fortnite’s latest addition to the battle royale mode, the Infinity Blade. Currently found at Polar Peaks in any mode, this melee weapon is absolutely devastating, and some battle royale matches are bound to turn into a race for this weapon. That’s because the weapon completely changes up the game’s meta. The Fortnite player who manages to drop first and pull the sword from the stone gets the following buffs: 200 health/200 shields, 1 HP/shield per second regen, 50 HP heal upon elimination of an enemy, and 130% move speed....

Another Thursday means another set of challenges in Epic Game’s wildly popular battle royale title Fortnite. This week, these challenges include dealing headshot damage, destroying various environmental objects across the map, and searching where the magnifying glass sits on the treasure map. Per usual, once players have completed these tasks, they will be able to find a hidden battle star. About a couple of weeks ago, the video game developer Epic Games officially added basketball-themed items to the wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival shooter Fortnite in order to celebrate this year’s NBA Finals. Now, the company has decided to show its support for World Cup 2018 by adding soccer-styled skins and cosmetics to the title to get fans into the spirit of the global sporting event as well. Fortnite players are getting an influx of Marvel-themed additions this season. From Ant-Man’s super-sized miniature playgrounds to Thor’s hammer and Wolverine’s claw-marks, players have had the opportunity to encounter a substantial number of Marvel entities throughout Season 4. Yesterday, Fortnite fans were able to attend a live in-game concert featuring the musician Marshmello, with the free-to-play Battle Royale title offering players the chance to groove to some electronic tunes while using their favorite avatars. As it so happens, the event was quite the success, as the concert managed to draw in a huge number of fans in-game, which seems to have helped set a new concurrent player record....

The creators of Fortnite love incorporating crossovers into the battle royale game, from the creepy clown in It to the biggest recent event in Fortnite, the Marvel takeover. Recently, a prominent leaker revealed that Epic’s popular game would be adding a TikTok dance as its newest emote, and that emote is now available in the store just hours after the leak. Most people are aware at this point of the legal troubles facing Fortnite, which will been banned from the App Store for at least a year, and is engaged in lawsuits against both Apple and Google....

Fortnite has managed to maintain a player base through its constant stream of updates, and it seems that the title has at least one major update before it moves on to Season 3. There have been rumors about how Fortnite Season 2 would conclude, and this significant update seems to fix a lot of the lingering issues from this season as well as adding a whole new game mode which fans of capture the flag will likely enjoy....

Forza Horizon 5’s multiplayer has been built with the aim of letting you have fun rather than get angry when you play it. E3 is over for another year and it’s probably fair to say a lot of people have been left disappointed by what was offered up.
