Although the Awesome Games Done Quick is supposed to be about fun and community, the latest move by the event has drawn some criticism. In an effort to clean up the Games Done Quick livestream, the organization has decided to impose a subscriber-only limitation on the chat. Initially, Awesome Games Done Quick began with a standard chat but it wasn’t long before the subscribers-only mode was turned on. Once on, the only way for anyone to interact in the chat was to pay $4....

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is a celebration of the series’ music, but did you know that it also references the multiple outfits Mickey Mouse has worn over the years too? Disney’s friendly mouse has helped Sora and the gang through Kingdom Hearts’ almost 20-year history, and with each team within Melody of Memory, his outfit changes. Teams are composed of 3 key characters within pivotal titles in the franchise. Classic includes Sora, Donald, and Goofy, Team Days includes Roxas, Xion, and Axel, Team Birth By Sleep has Aqua, Ven, and Terra, and Team 3D (disappointingly) features Riku and a few dream eaters....

The early to mid 2000s were a golden age for weird peripherals and novelty controllers. This was the age of Rockband guitars, Tony Hawk: Ride skateboard controllers, and all kinds of cheap third party knock-offs. Microsoft announces that two new maps have been added to Gears of War 4 multiplayer along with a brand new Valentine’s Day event kicking off later this week. Though it originally released last October, Gears of War 4 has received a steady flow of post-launch support and content thanks to the efforts of The Coalition. Fans have been well aware of the downloadable content schedule for some time now, but the developer has not been shy to also add content through a number of free updates typically centered around holidays like the ugly sweater and snowball cannons for Gearsmas....

Genshin Impact players have a lot to look forward to on November 11th, 2020. The new update 1.1 drops then, bringing along with it a wave of new content. Genshin Impact’s 1.1 update includes new characters and fixes. And players can spend the next couple of days getting ready for everything new on the way. It’s so hard to believe that God Of War (PS4) has already been available for years. Godzilla is such a fascinating property because he’s been around for over six decades and is arguably a larger cinematic icon than James Bond. The beast has gone through a number of reinventions over the years, but the most interesting of these facelifts have taken place in more recent years. Filmmakers have gone out of their way to deliver movies that aren’t your standard action-packed Godzilla endeavors. After some of the more progressive, ambitious takes on the character, such as Shin Godzilla or Gareth Edwards’ reimagining of the franchise, the character is allowed to be more of a cipher that can hint at heavier issues....

Final Fantasy 14 allows players to have their very own Chocobo mount once they hit level 20, at which point they can complete the “My Little Chocobo” sidequest given by one of the officers in their home city-state. Additionally, at level 30, players can then summon their Chocobo into battle to help them vanquish enemies by completing the level 30 sidequest “My Feisty Little Chocobo”, given by Docette in the South Shroud at (X:17, Y:28)....

As far as difficulty curves go, Final Fantasy has never been particularly consistent as a franchise. There’s a fairly large disparity in quality between the three Famicom entries (Final Fantasy I through III,) while the SNES games range from varying shades of easy (IV & VI) to occasionally challenging (V.) The PS1 era follows suit in this regard, with VII, VIII, and IX all over the place as far as challenge goes, but Final Fantasy VII is arguably the easiest of the trio....

Final Fantasy 7’s story and legacy meant so much for many gamers that years later, Square Enix just had to produce a movie based on it, Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. Although Advent Children released to mixed reviews, fans will soon be able to rejoice in all its visual spectacle in 4K glory. Square Enix has certainly gone its way towards expanding Final Fantasy 7’s complicated timeline with Advent Children being followed by video game lore expansions like Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core, even now willing to toy a bit with its outcome in FF7 Remake....

As many reports and fiscal reviews can attest to, mobile gaming is one of the most profitable ventures for developers in the video game industry. Although gamers initially balked at the idea of some of their favorite titles making games exclusively for iOS and Android phones, as game quality has increased, so has acceptance for the blossoming platform of mobile gaming. For proof, look no further than a month ago, when news broke that Fallout Shelter players had logged over 29 million hours into Bethesda’s quirky blend of the apocalypse and Sims....

Surprising absolutely no one, Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake has shipped 3.5 million copies in just three days. The long-awaited remake of one of the most beloved entries in the Final Fantasy series, I’m not sure anyone thought this game wouldn’t do well. Still, this isn’t anything to scoff at. The numbers might be a little bolstered thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but Square Enix has a certified smash on its hands....

It may seem like a long time ago, but it was only in 2010 when Final Fantasy XIII was first released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Later in 2014, it made its way to PC and finally to mobile devices in 2015 but only for Japanese gamers. The game is set on the world of Gran Pulse and the spherical man-made world, Cocoon, that floats above it. Both of these worlds are influenced by the fal’Cie, which are god-like beings who can impose their will onto humans by branding them as “l’Cie” and sending them visions of their “Focus”, the task they must complete....

With the Star Citizen Kickstarter more than doubling its goal, Chris Roberts’ return to video game development is off to an impressive and exciting start. His goal of returning the space sim genre back to its ’90s glory is an ambitious one, matched only by what he and the the team at Cloud Imperium Games Corporation are attempting to do with game and its next-gen visuals. Star Citizen isn’t expected to release until November 2014 but the very first gameplay footage is already available for viewing thanks to the positive reception of the plan for the title....

Oscar Isaac is jumping from one blockbuster to the next, with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, a Metal Gear Solid adaptation, and Marvel’s Moon Knight all in the pipeline. The latter recently began filming and the first set photo that has emerged puts Ethan Hawke in the spotlight, wearing an eyebrow-raising outfit. Aside from the casting confirmation of Isaac, Hawke, and May Calamawy, the only other tidbit we’ve got from the production is a short video showcasing Isaac’s combat training....
