Google is finally prepared to reveal pertinent details about its Stadia gaming platform during a livestream presentation on June 6th. The event, named Stadia Connect, will feature launch details including pricing and game reveals. The timing of the event is perfect as Google intends its hardware to compete among the best, such as Microsoft, who will be presenting its upcoming projects only four days later when E3 begins. A show of strength would be to present the Stadia as able to do something much better than either of the other major gaming companies, and then watch them squirm in an attempt to come up with a response....

In an announcement that should come as no surprise, Square Enix has confirmed that the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake will feature both 4K and HDR support. 4K resolution will obviously be limited to the PS4 Pro, but HDR is functional on both the base and Pro systems. I’m not sure anyone living in 2020 was anticipating the game to not have these features, but confirmation is still nice. The graphical presentation of VII Remake is polished to an obscene degree, so getting more colors and higher fidelity isn’t a bad thing....

For several weeks now 2K Sports and developer Yuke’s have been teasing players with closer looks at WWE 2K15 in action. Yesterday, Epic Games disabled the rifts in Fortnite after discovering a bug. Disabling the rifts in the game made it impossible for some players to complete their challenges, so luckily Epic has wasted no time reactivating the rifts, and they are now live in the free-to-play battle royale game once again. For the uninitiated, rifts are portals that can be found dotted around the map in Fortnite. Sometimes these rifts are easy to reach, but other times players will need to build structures in order to get up to them....
The week 7 challenges are underway for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, and players will be all over the map to complete these challenges. After finding all of those Fortnite campsites and visiting the other locations, players will also have to hunt down some Spy Base hideouts to grab some treasure. Several days ago, a datamine from the Twitter account TwoEpicBuddies unveiled new assets coming to Epic Games’ wildly popular and successful multiplayer sandbox survival shooter Fortnite, with one discovery in particular pointing toward the return of Bounce Pads. Now, the video game developer has openly confirmed the objects’ inclusion in the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of the title, with the items officially being dubbed “Bouncer Traps”. According to Epic Games’ description of Bouncer Traps, Fortnite fans can “hop on the new Bouncer Trap and send friend or foe soaring”, implying that not only does the item hold the potential for giving players an added boost, but also that it works as a means to unexpectedly cause an opponent to be launched into the air....
Xbox Game Studio Playground Games debuted its final 2020 Forza Monthly show for Forza Horizon 4 today, and the biggest new announcement for the popular racing title is its upcoming Super7 mode. The game has been continually supported since it launched in 2018, including Forza Horizon 4 receiving a free upgrade to Xbox Series X, but Super7 will add something unique: Customizable tracks and challenges. The mode is meant to celebrate community-created challenges, according to the official description of the minute-long Super7 trailer uploaded to YouTube....
