BioWare is synonymous with a lot of things in the gaming industry. Well crafted stories, lore-heavy RPGs, interesting fantasy worlds, etc. Unfortunately, a good character creator has never been one of them. Indeed, despite character creation being part of more than a dozen BioWare games - ranging from 2003’s Knights of the Old Republic, all the way to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition - there’s always something to frustrate the fans’ attempts to craft a perfect hero....

Remedy Entertainment’s Control was one of the most critically-acclaimed games of 2019, winning a number of important awards in a variety of categories. Particular praise was given to Control’s story, and now fans of the game will soon be able to find out what happens next. Remedy has confirmed the release date for the first major Control expansion, The Foundation, which will be available by the end of the month....

The intriguingly named first-person adventure game Estranged: The Departure will be getting a port on Switch later this year. Currently planned for a Q4 2020 release, the history behind this title is rather interesting. What started life as a Half-Life 2 mod in 2014 (called Estranged: Act 1) eventually would receive a full-fledged sequel that released earlier this year on PC. Developed over a period of six years, fans are quite taken with the final result....

While Sega will always be recognized as one of the biggest game developers of all time, financially they haven’t been doing so well as of late. So it does make sense that they would focus more on publishing games than developing their own. Now, one of those titles they are publishing just so happens to be Double Fine’s upcoming adventure game (not the Kickstarter-funded point-and-click adventure), which may be a solid enough investment to start putting Sega back on a safer financial track....

The PlayStation 5 debuted on November 12, and with it came a limited number of games that were truly PS5 products. Assassins Creed Valhalla, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Godfall are three of the newer titles. Epic Games made sure its Battle Royal champion, Fortnite, would be ready for the launch of next-generation consoles. It debuted alongside those aforementioned games, but it has not been a perfect launch. A new update coming is changing that....

Here is how you can tame wolves, chickens, and boars in Fortnite. Fortnite has gone primal. There are now all sorts of creatures on the island and each has its own perk. Season 6 brought frogs, chickens, boars, and even wolves along with it. You can interact with most of the animals you find. Boars and wolves are hostile whereas chickens and frogs will try to run away once they notice you’re approaching them....

Fortnite Season 4 has just entered its second week, and that means new Challenges for players to overcome. The removal of Fortnite from the Apple App Store and the subsequent ongoing lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple is well known. Without realizing or intending for it to be, Friends became the first television show I ever watched through to its conclusion. Generation Esports (GenE) recently announced the first tournament for its newly launched Middle School Esports League (MSEL). The MSEL Fall Major esports tournament officially begins with the start of the fall semester, with competition commencing on September 21, 2020. The MSEL is following the same path blazed by the GenE High School Esports League (HSEL), which is North America’s largest high school competitive gaming organization. Like the HSEL, the MSEL has the goal of channeling student’s passion for video gaming into helping them and their schools receive better academic opportunities and benefits....

Early on during their time with Genshin Impact, the brand-new free-to-play game from developer miHoYo, players will receive a quest that instructs them to process three ingredients. In a new interview with Brazillian outlet Voxel, Ghost of Tsushima’s creative director (Nate Fox) stated that he believes Sucker Punch’s upcoming open-world game will be around 30-50 hours long. That falls in line with practically every other similar game on the market. “Can players take, say, 30, 40, 50 hours if they do the optional activities? And, obviously, less than that if you stay on the main route? Is it safe to make these statements?...

David Jaffe was once one of the top video game designers in the industry. Having created and directed hugely successful video game franchises like Twisted Metal and God of War, his impact on the video game industry can’t be understated. Unfortunately, recent years haven’t been quite as successful for Jaffe, with his PS4-exclusive Drawn to Death flopping and forcing him to shut down his independent studio.
