Persona 5 Royal saw the addition of a number of changes and advancements to Atlus’ smash 2017 JRPG hit, Persona 5. But arguably, one of the best and easily the funniest addition to the game was the feature to take the Twin Wardens of the Velvet Room, Caroline and Justine, out on the town and babysit them around Tokyo. Though the Twin Wardens’ interactions in Persona 5 were limited to helping Joker fuse and strengthen his persona (and giving him annoyingly difficult fusion tasks), Royal takes that one step farther by adding one more part of Joker’s rehabilitation - “special assignments....

There are many Final Fantasy fans who hate the eighth installment with a vengeance, which is a shame since Final Fantasy VIII is one of the better installments in the franchise. While much of 343 Industries’ focus with the Master Chief Collection has been on the remastered version of Halo 2, fans should know that the entire Halo library is getting some sort of upgrade. Obviously, Halo: Combat Evolved saw its visuals boosted with the Anniversary release, and Halo 2 is next, but both Halo 3 and Halo 4 are also getting a much-needed facelift for next-gen. To better illustrate that point, 343 showed off just a brief segment of Halo 3 that highlighted how exactly this 7-year old game has changed....

Fortnite’s v13.40 is now live. Here’s all of the cosmetic items added that have been discovered by the game’s dedicated data miners. The v13.40 update went live on Fortnite this week and it’s a big one. It brings with it the Coral Castle POI, finally confirming the long-rumored arrival of Atalantis, a new Summer Splash LTM, and, most exciting of all, the Joy Ride update. As the name implies, the update has made Fortnite’s cars drivable, so we’re expecting less building and more driving on the island in the coming days and weeks....

The launch of Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 5 introduces many new changes to the game. In addition to drastic map changes, Fortnite players will see plenty of new weapons, including the Exotic Shadow Tracker pistol. Epic Games’ popular battle royale title recently launched the weapon as part of its new season. Today, the video game developer Epic Games ensured that Update 4.2 went live for its sandbox survival title Fortnite, with the patch adding a new apple healing item, as well as the highly-coveted Epic and Legendary burst assault rifle. While plenty of fans are surely enjoying the additions of the latest update, it looks as if the patch’s game files are hosting even more content to come, as a recent datamine has discovered the multiplayer release might be getting a Competitive Mode at some point in the near future....

Fortnite players are getting a lot of exciting content with the recent arrival of Season 4 and the collaboration between Epic and Marvel bringing superheroes to the battle royale. However, Epic Games’ feud with Apple is far from over, and that lawsuit hangs over the community like a dark cloud. At this point, most Fortnite players are familiar with Epic’s fight with Apple and Google, which started when Epic protested the App Store and Play Store’s 30% revenue fees and skirted the policy to sell V-Bucks directly to players, resulting in both Apple and Google booting Fortnite from their stores....

Not too long ago, Friday the 13th: The Game received a rough hotfix for PS4 and PC meant to resolve a number of post-patch issues that have been plaguing players, but it seems as if there are still plenty of problems present in the title. With this being the case, the developers at IllFonic has decided to post an update to keep players involved in the process of the current bug fixes that are in the works for the game....

The creators of This War of Mine have announced the Kickstarter launch date for its latest board game titled, Frostpunk. Based upon the video game of the same name, players are promised a faithful adaptation. Polish developers, 11-bit studios were formed in September 2010 by former employees of CD Projekt and Metropolis. Best known for titles This War of Mine and Frostpunk, they have a history of creating titles suitable for both hardcore and casual gaming markets....

It is becoming a more common trend now to see high-level gaming industry veterans leave big name developers to start their own venture. What exactly is causing this is hard to discern. It could be a dislike of the corporate culture that comes with working for a big company, or for someone like Hideo Kojima at Konami, wanting full creative control, which led to his departure from the developer. Whatever the case may be, it is quite something to see a number of games industry veterans joining forces to form a new game development studio....

The CEO of Chinese publisher Yoozoo has been hospitalised in what Shangai police suspect to be a case of poisoning. Lin Qi, who is also the founder of Yoozoo, was admitted to the hospital after feeling ill on December 16. Police suspect a 39-year-old colleague surnamed Xu of foul play. Lin is currently in a stable condition in the hospital. Outside of China, Yoozoo is best known for the mobile strategy title Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming....

The big news from Gearbox at E3–besides the whole movie thing–is Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a new Borderlands spinoff game with a star-studded cast. That’ll include Ashly Burch as Tiny Tina, of course, but also Will Arnett as the big bad Dragon Lord and both Wanda Sykes and Andy Samberg in unspecified roles. We got a good look at Wonderlands thanks to a pair of trailers that have been released over the course of E3 and Summer Game Fest, and now we have a few new screenshots to share courtesy of Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford....
