For several years now, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been one of the most popular video game series that explores the realm of historical fiction, and ever since the series began back in 2007, fans have been asking Ubisoft for an Assassin’s Creed game that would explore the events of ancient Japan. Electronic Arts has won its case against a class-action lawsuit filed against the company in November 2020, which accused it of using predatory scripting in a few of its major franchises. The lawsuit has now been withdrawn, and Electronic Arts took the opportunity to reiterate that it has never used predatory scripting in any of its sports-related titles, and will not in the future. The lawsuit originated when three Californian FIFA 21 players stated EA was taking advantage of them using a patented AI technology called dynamic difficulty adjustment....

Playstation is offering Final Fantasy XIV Online Starter Edition to all PS4 users for free until May 26. Players can download the game through the PlayStation Store. The 14th installment of the popular RPG series, Final Fantasy XIV Online is only the second MMORPG in the line up. The Starter Edition typically costs $20 to purchase, and the online version requires a paid monthly subscription in order to play. Even though the “Free Play” Campaign ended on May 17, Square Enix is allowing gamers another chance to start their own Final Fantasy XIV adventures....

The party is less than Final Fantasy VI’s diverse cast, but Final Fantasy VII has more of a quality over quantity situation. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is full of amazing boss fights that can be both incredibly challenging and fun, but the game sets itself apart from others by giving each boss some sort of unique mechanic. The Roche boss fight makes use of motorcycles for example, while the Scorpion Sentinel utilizes a protective barrier. These sorts of things make each boss feel different from one another rather than all of them being giant bullet sponges, but one of the most interesting boss designs in the game, the Air Buster boss fight, also ends up being one of the most disappointing....

Something big is coming to Fortnite. As we already discussed last week, teasers and rumors are pointing to some kind of big Marvel crossover for the game’s Chapter 2 Season 4. It’s not the craziest idea, especially since Fortnite previously brought Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet to its battle royale mode to tie into Avengers: Endgame last year. In May of last year, Epic Games and Marvel Studios teamed up to bring Thanos into Fortnite’s popular battle-royale mode for a limited-time “Infinity Gauntlet” mode following the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War. Now, with the sequel movie, Avengers: Endgame, coming to theaters in a couple of weeks, there’s evidence looming that Fortnite will be receiving a sequel appearance of the mad titan in its game as well.
