While LGBTQ+ organizations may occasionally focus on video games, like with the GLAAD Media Awards, there has yet to be a whole awards show focused on the LGBTQ+ community in video games. The inaugural Gayming Awards premiered today, and revealed the winners across nine different gaming categories, from a group of 50 nominees. The Gayming Awards is presented by Gayming Magazine, a UK-based magazine that focuses on the LGBTQ+ community in video games....

The inclusion of Predator via season five might well have been the weirdest to date. Epic Games’ Fortnite continues to release new characters from the Marvel Comics universe as part of its Chapter 2, Season 4 content. Though the battle royale has taken a breather from comic book heroes and villains to host a Halloween event featuring Shadow Midas, it will soon be putting Marvel back in the limelight with a Knockout Super Series competitive cup based around Ghost Rider. No release date has been given for the Ghost Rider-themed content, as Fortnite’s Twitter account simply teased its release today by posting a silhouetted image of the character captioned with two emoji: A skull and flames....

Season 8 in Fortnite is quickly nearing its end, as week 10 has arrived with an all-new set of challenges for players to complete. As usual, players have some easy free challenges like harvesting wood or shooting out of cannons, mixed with battle pass specific challenges. Clearing at least four of these challenges in total ensures players earn 10,000XP. For those with the season 8 battle pass, the final treasure hunt is also up for grabs along with its Battle Star reward....

The season of giving has kicked off and The Game Theorists have started off strong with a massive collaborative charity event on Giving Tuesday that spent over 10 hours raising money for cancer research and treatment. Throughout the all-day livestream event, multiple YouTubers and content creators raised millions of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the foundation’s efforts in the fight against childhood cancer. The release of the fifth game in the Gears of War lineup, Gears 5, is soon approaching. However, the wait might not be too bad with the technical test coming out in a few days. The “Tech Test” will allow fans to get a feel for many of the game’s features and give important feedback to developers. This is all to ensure the smoothest release possible. Coalition Studio first announced Gears 5 during E3 in 2018 and delivered a new trailer, Escape, for the game during E3 2019....

Genshin Impact is beginning to show its dark underbelly by slowly pulling back the curtain on the deities and the sky hovering above Teyvat. Those who have played “We Will Be Reunited” are also becoming aware of just how dark the world may be. Darker parts of the lore are also shown in the manga, which deals with topics like human experimentation and the days of Mondstadt when it was ruled by a tyrant....

Fans of Ghost of Tsushima have jumped at every chance to share their appreciation and support for the game, and Sucker Punch seems to be returning the favor. Since launch, there have been two patches that address issues within the game or add new features. The first patch added the new Lethal mode in an effort to provide a more challenging experience for fans, and this newest update makes some changes to the Traveler’s Attire’s artifact tracking ability....

Fans of Ghost Recon Breakpoint can explore the game’s captivating open world of Auroa and its many biomes in teams of four, be it throughout the story or the game’s many DLCs. Interestingly, fans up for a challenge might have the “Project Titan” DLC in their crosshairs. This DLC takes place in the dangerous Golem Island, located north east of Auroa. In this raid, players not only need to fight against elite enemies, but also an active volcano that adds a new level of lethality to Ghost Recon’s elite missions....

Major spoilers for Glass Onion, Knives Out, and several Agatha Christie novels. With Netflix’s Glass Onion, Rian Johnson has produced another highly enjoyable detective story. Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc has the perfect Poirot-inspired blend of likeability, slight ridiculousness, and believably extreme intelligence to anchor this type of tale. The mystery itself is intriguing with well-drawn characters and the same lightness of touch combined with subtle social commentary, and it has one of movie history’s more fun red herring characters just wandering around in the background throughout....
