Publisher Ziggurat Interactive recently announced the January 21, 2021 release date for the first-person firefighting title, Real Heroes: Firefighter HD. The game will be released for PC through Steam and GOG, with its price point made public at launch. Real Heroes: Firefighter HD also marks the launch of Ziggurat Interactive’s Hall of Heroes Contest, the studio’s effort to celebrate “all of its heroes from various games and genres”. The Hall of Heroes Contest will allow gamers their chance “to select their favorite heroes from the Ziggurat catalog and enter for a chance to win that hero’s game”, and is scheduled to run until January 28....

File this one under ‘speculation’ at this point, but it seems that an image connected to Ubisoft, and Prince of Persia in particular has arrived online to once again fuel speculation over the Prince’s return. It’s impossible to confirm that the screenshot is, in fact, showing off the studio’s current state of development on a new Prince of Persia game, but the evidence is certainly stacking up. The first question sure to be asked: why a shot of a Middle-Eastern marketplace, and a musclebound brawler would lead anyone to believe it has anything to do with the acrobatically-inclined Prince....

The world of motion pictures is loaded with brilliant films and original visions, but few are without precedent. Forbidden Zone is a one of a kind movie that is both highly intelligent and unafraid to be broadly stupid. It mixes the most nightmarish elements of hundreds of film moments, unintentionally of course, with some of the most emotionally stirring music ever to prop up celluloid. If it weren’t for the snatches of dialogue, it might be considered the greatest prog rock opera....

Although initial previews of Anthem left many excited for BioWare’s take on the science-fantasy looter shooter genre, this fell incredibly short when the title officially launched. Many couldn’t see how a game six years in development dropped the ball so hard until Kotaku’s explosive report revealed that it was only in production for 18 months and Anthem’s impressive E3 2017 demo was fake. Now, Aaryn Flynn, a former BioWare general manager now serving as the general manager of Improbable, has commented on the rough launch and reception of Anthem....

There’s no doubt that there are plenty of cosmetics to collect within Fortnite Battle Royale, with the fun having even spilled over into a fan-made website that allows players to design their own custom Fortnite skins just for kicks. Now, though, certain players of Epic Games free-to-play online multiplayer shooter can add to their collection by nabbing the highly coveted Carbon Commando skin without having to spend any additional money to acquire the item....

Week 8 of Fortnite Battle Royale season 3 has finally unlocked for Battle Pass players, giving them new challenges to complete, which certainly helps to keep things fresh. Per usual, the challenges this week feature one in particular that requires some exploration and a bit of luck. While these hunting challenges occasionally allow players to locate items across multiple matches, this challenge resembles the one from week 5 where players had to visit three gas stations in a single match....

After a few problems with V-Bucks and split-screen matchmaking, Fortnite is back with a brand new hotfix. Now that Epic Games has unveiled Update 5.3 for the wildly popular free-to-play title Fortnite Battle Royale, players are now able to enjoy a bunch of new features such as the new Limited Time Mode dubbed Score Royale, a fresh item named the Rift-To-Go, and more. Additionally, the map itself has been altered somewhat, with Epic having also used the latest patch to introduce a brand new area called Tomato Temple....

Fortnite is revealing new details about its latest in-game event. Aptly titled Short Nite Film Festival, the event will see the screening of several animated film shorts from around the world. Epic Games’ popular free-to-play battle royale title is well into the fifth season of Chapter 2. The crossover-focused season continues to bring in characters from across various franchises, including the likes of Halo’s Master Chief, G.I. To most people, Gengar is the “OG” (in this case, original ghost) in the world of Pokemon. Existing as the third and final evolution in the Gastly chain, Gengar has gone through many subtle redesigns throughout the history of Pokemon - in fact, it seems to have changed more than pretty much any other ‘mon in the entire series. Highlighted by Mekanos on ResetEra, Gengar’s debut sprite in the original Pokemon Green and Red introduced the chunky phantom as a grinning, purple nightmare....

The Nintendo Switch has managed to impress the gaming community with its substantial range of first-party and third-party games. The inclusion of third-party games has helped the Nintendo Switch reach higher than some of its predecessors and it now seems that more games in the next-generation of consoles could be ported to the system. Virtuous Studios has ported many high profile games for the Switch like Outer Worlds, Dark Souls: Remastered, and Bioshock: The Collection, and now has high hopes to continue this practice with more complex games....

While you might have not seen the point in stopping to pick every flower and plant you run by in the early game of Genshin Impact, once you start building your roster of characters and realize that these resources are mandatory for ascending them, you might end up kicking yourself for leaving them behind. Wolfhook is one of those plants you’ll need to upgrade a character such as Razor, but this flower doesn’t just grow anywhere....

Although Ghost of Tsushima looks like it takes elements from a handful of different open world games, no title inspired the upcoming game as much as the original Red Dead Redemption. According to the director, Nate Fox, the 2010 open-world cowboy classic was the number one inspiration for making Ghost of Tsushima. Obviously, you won’t be seeing cowboys running around the Japanese island of Tsushima, but Red Dead’s level of immersion is what really inspired the game’s development....

As part of its PAX Online presentation this weekend, publisher Gearbox Software came with a ton of announcements ready to go. Among them were new details about Risk of Rain 2, more content coming to Borderlands 3 in current-gen and next-gen, and, of course, more info about Gearbox’s upcoming next-gen title, Godfall. Seeing as Gearbox Software has a few different titles cycling through its catalogue right now, it only makes sense that the company work a little cross-promotion magic....
