During the February 25 PlayStation State of Play, Square Enix aired a new trailer announcing that Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be getting a PS5 upgrade called “Intergrade,” and that Intergrade would introduce a new chapter to the game focused on the classic fan-favorite character Yuffie. She and someone named Sonon Kusakabe, who’s a brand-new member of the Final Fantasy 7 universe, will be working together to infiltrate Midgar and steal powerful Materia in the name of Wutai....

Final Fantasy fans have often lauded Final Fantasy VIII as an underrated franchise title. Its engaging story includes military operations, romance, and, most compelling of all, a time paradox. Final Fantasy VIII puts players in the shoes of SeeD members. SeeD is a mercenary organization hired to conduct monster elimination missions, offer offensive/undercover support, and, ultimately, eliminate the Sorceress. As a majority of the party are SeeDs, the organization’s relevance to the plot is apparent on several occasions, starting from the player conducting Squall’s field exam at the start and into the unravelling of secrets behind the organization’s creation....

For Fortnite season 8 week 10, the flaming hoop challenge has returned but with a twist for the wildly popular battle royale title. This time around, instead of driving a vehicle through one of the hoops, players have to launch themselves through using the Pirate Cannons that were first introduced when season 8 launched. Finding and launching through 3 different flaming hoops will complete this challenge and grant 5 battle stars....

Although buying skins on Fortnite usually means directly spending $10-$20 on the Fortnite store, there was one rare skin that players could only obtain by buying a bundled PS4. Now, the Royale Bomber is also available for purchase with a PS4 controller at select retailers. In mid-July, Epic Games and Sony teamed up to release a PS4 bundle that included arguably the rarest character skin of all, Royale Bomber. Now Epic and Sony have made Royale Bomber more accessible by releasing a controller bundle that also includes 500 V-bucks....

The massive multiplayer battle royale title, Fortnite, is approaching its new season that’ll come with a new map and other changes that many players will no doubt be excited for. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is finally coming to an end after months of being out and players are wondering just when exactly the season will end and when Chapter 2 Season 6 begins. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 will officially kick off on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, and Epic Games has even released a countdown video on Fortnite’s official YouTube channel that will premiere the story cinematic for the new season, and according to Epic Games, it’s the most ambitious yet....

Unsurprisingly, Forza Horizon 5 will have the largest map in the series, making Mexico the most adventurous and social open-world in the series yet. Aptly named Legends, a new DLC will be coming free to Ghost of Tsushima resplendent with multiplayer co-op, allowing up to four players to enjoy story and survival missions together. If anyone thought the hype and praise for Sucker Punch’s latest hit was over, think again. Like the legend of the Tsushima island samurai itself – this story has only just begun. The various legends seem to have been true, as this new DLC announcement has taken the video game industry by storm in a sweeping bout of anticipation....

Most people who’ve picked up a mobile game have faced the annoyance of in-app purchases and ads. GameClub seeks to get rid of that with an “all-you-can-play” subscription model for the iOS App Store and now, Google Play. GameClub releases new games weekly for a monthly subscription price of $4.99. It wasn’t available for Android before, but the Google Play Store is getting to join in on the game subscription. GameClub looks similar to Google Play Pass, but this new service seems to be focused on reviving old favorites rather than focusing on newer games....

Gears of War is not typically an easy game. It is known for its extremely hardcore multiplayer following, and the game itself is easy to learn, but incredibly hard to master. The game’s campaign is similarly challenging, especially some of its boss fights against the monstrous creatures of the Locust Horde. These ten boss encounters, in particular, are sure to frustrate players for hours on end. If you and your friends are looking to conquer the game on a harder difficulty, chances are at least one of these challenges will prove to be a major roadblock....

The Glaze Lily is a plant in Genshin Impact that is deeply rooted in Liyue’s history. It can only be found growing in a few select places in the region, which can make it a bit hard to find at first. The Glaze Lily is an ascension material needed for Ningguang and is used in crafting the Geoculus Resonance Stone. While they may be a bit limited in use, they are still worth picking up during your weekly farming rounds....

Childe is the challengeable boss that players will face near the end of the Liyue story arc in Genshin Impact. Childe can be taken on once every week for rewards, some of which are needed to finish leveling some character’s talents. Childe can be a harsh boss, so much so that he was actually nerfed shortly after being released. He takes much longer to deal with than Stormterror and is able to use multiple elements....

Ghost of Tsushima managed to retain its spot as the top-selling game in the UK more than a week after its release, and it is on its way to breaking a record as a result. If the game can stay at the top for another week, it will dethrone The Last of Us 2 from holding the top spot the longest. Most would agree that Ghost of Tsushima deserves that title wholeheartedly, but achieving such a record has less to do with how great a game is and more to do with what else is releasing in the meantime....

While God of War protagonist Kratos has been in the news plenty due to his Fortnite crossover skin, players are just as excited for the character to make a return in his own series. 2018’s God of War brought Kratos to the realm of Norse mythology, and while the game featured plenty of memorable moments, it felt like Santa Monica was only dipping its toes into all that Norse legends have to offer....
