This Fear the Walking Dead review contains spoilers. Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2 Oh boy, where to even begin with this one? After setting up Strand as this season’s big bad in last week’s premiere, “The Beacon,” Fear the Walking Dead now shines the spotlight on its would-be saviors, namely Morgan and Grace. (And I say “would-be” as Alicia remains conspicuously absent.) While they may have finally confessed their love for one another in the face of nuclear annihilation, it quickly becomes apparent in this week’s “Six Hours” that all is not rosy in their cozy submarine....

If you’ve played any Final Fantasy game, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard Prelude. Also referred to as the Crystal Theme, this track has made an appearance in almost every single Final Fantasy title to date. While every new game typically has its own set of songs associated with it, this song could, in a sense, be considered the overarching theme of the whole franchise. Final Fantasy VII Remake won’t be released until early 2020, but the game is already winning awards, as the Game Critic Awards gave it the Best of Show prize for its appearance at E3 2019. The Game Critics Awards is an annual award event that judges the games that appeared at E3 of that year and it has been running since 1998. The judges for the 2019 panel consisted of representatives from sixty-four different media outlets....

It’s finally happened. After what feels like eons of anticipation, the next mainline game in the Final Fantasy franchise has been announced to much fanfare. Yesterday’s PS5 Live Showcase revealed a four minute trailer for Final Fantasy XVI, and it’s got just about everything you’d expect from an announcement for a next-gen FF title: stunning graphics, incredible redesigns of series staples, exciting sneak-peeks into the battle system, and a bland-looking protagonist that will inevitably be fleshed out into another beloved main character....

There are some common occupations in video games. A soldier, for example, or a knight. We’ve got lots of explorers, lots of mercenaries, lots of athletes. We don’t have very many teachers, though - at least, not many playable ones. That’s one of the main reasons Fire Emblem: Three Houses holds such a special place in my heart. It casts you as Byleth, a new teacher at Garreg Mach Monastery, and lets you explore the school from that perspective....

Ever since its release in 2017, Fire Emblem Heroes has been one of Nintendo’s most successful mobile games, allowing gamers to play as their favorite Fire Emblem characters across the franchise’s 30-year history. Now, Nintendo has revealed the next batch of special units that players should expect to see in Fire Emblem Heroes. In a new trailer released by Nintendo, the studio showcased some of the new elements added in the new banner, including an overview of some of the character’s skills and more....

Thunderful Publishing and Dejima Games revealed Firegirl today during Guerilla Collective – an upcoming platforming game that puts you into the shoes of a young firefighter battling through flames to save the citizens of their town. Firegirl gives you a couple of tools that should make your job easier, including a powerful ax to break through debris and a fire hose that also works as a jetpack. The game features a procedurally generated city, so you can expect a new experience every time you go out on a rescue mission....

Things just continue to get worse for Zynga. First came word that Tiny Tower developer NimbleBit was none to happy with the similarities between their game and Zynga’s newest IP Dream Heights, and then even more claims arose that stated Zynga liberally borrowed from their intellectual property, and now comes the most scathing report on the company yet. Over on Reddit, where anyone from any walk of life can create their own interactions with the public at large, a former employee of Zynga has taken to the ‘IAmA’ section to share his experience while working for the mobile and PC app giant, and it isn’t pretty....

Epic Games has introduced plenty of new content for Chapter 2, Season 5 of Fortnite, giving many players new ideas for how to complete matches. One of these new additions reintroduced planes in Fortnite, giving many fans an aerial advantage over their enemies. As part of this returning feature in Fortnite, players can also shoot down other aerial vehicles and players from the sky. Accompanying this comes a new challenge in Fortnite that tasks gamers with controlling an X-4 Stormwing and shooting down an enemy structure for XP....

Yesterday, Epic Games and People Can Fly officially opened iOS Invite Event signups for the popular multiplayer sandbox survival title Fortnite Battle Royale, with so many fans flocking to sign up that it actually caused the site to crash for several hours. With such a huge amount of players vying to be selected in this lottery-like scenario, the companies have now put forth a notice that there have yet to be any mobile invites sent out just yet, so fans will need to be wary of any “false” mobile links being sent to them....

Fortnite managed to cultivate an audience by giving players a battle royale game that included unique building mechanics as well as frequent events. The game has experienced numerous revisions and it seems that are plenty of updates coming to Fortnite as the game continues to evolve. While this is largely positive, some players will experience or find glitches when updates are implemented and one player has now managed to change the perspective of the game with interesting results....

Simutronics upcoming mech arena shooter Galahad 3093 isn’t the kind of simulation mech game you’re probably used to seeing. Unlike sim-style games like Mechwarrior, Galahad combines the tactical gameplay of mech fighters with the personality and accessibility of modern hero shooters like Overwatch and Valorant. David Whatley, President and CEO of Simutronics, told us a little more about the studio’s new approach to the classic genre. When development on Galahad began, Whatley and his team looked around and didn’t see many people making the types of games they themselves wanted to play....

The past few weeks have seen an enormous financial conflict take place around the shares of GameStop. Many have lost money, and many more have profited, with the notable exception of GameStop itself. For the uninitiated, GameStop’s stock became the target of several hedge funds that “shorted” the stock, devaluing it through borrowing and selling for profit. A subreddit called r/wallstreetbets noticed this and decided to purchase GameStop stock to drive up its value....

After announcing two smaller Gears universe games, Microsoft surprised the crowd with a confirmation of Gears of War 5. The game is currently in development by The Coalition and was announced with a story-centric reveal trailer. Gears of War 5 rumors have been circling in the recent weeks leading up to E3 and it seems like a few of the leaks were correct. Despite that, the moment was still incredibly special and the extended trailer gives Gears fans a ton to dig into and analyze....
