GameStop is receiving considerable criticism for its decision to keep its doors open during the COVID-19 coronavirus global pandemic. While critics have been outspoken, GameStop isn’t budging and has instead offered a variety of ways that it’s trying to control the risk of an outbreak at its stores. GameStop previously declared itself an ’essential business’ akin to grocery stores and pharmacies that are eligible to keep their doors open during this troubling time....

I think it’s safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 has been a god awful mess. While the game works pretty well on high-end PCs, it just doesn’t on consoles and especially last-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. This has resulted in a lot of angry gamers accusing CD Projekt Red of misleading ads and marketing–to the point where some are even thinking about suing the developer. Even if they’re not angry enough to join a class-action lawsuit, there are still plenty of disappointed Cyberpunk fans that are asking for their money back....

Customers looking forward to the rollout of GameStop’s new game rental program, PowerPass, will have to press pause on those plans. According to multiple employees and a spokesperson for GameStop, the heavily anticipated service has hit several snags ahead of its launch, and will now be suspended indefinitely. GameStop has already begun asking its staff to throw away the store’s Holiday Guide, which featured advertising for the PowerPass service, and to replace this week’s weekly ad, which also centered around the launch of the new rental program....

It’s safe to say that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most popular games of all time. As of November 2016 it’s sold 30 million copies and has found its way to numerous consoles over the years. That number is likely to skyrocket once again when Skryim VR hits the market, whether it’s a “complete dumpster fire” or not. Personally, I’m not a fan of the game. The characters are bland so you don’t want to do anything for them, the plot is non-existence, and all the quests are pretty much identical....

Genshin Impact’s Ganyu is a five-star cryo character who uses a bow. Unlike most bow users though, she is made to play as a DPS character, much like Tartaglia was before her. Ganyu’s range of abilities has currently crowned her as one of the most powerful characters in Genshin Impact. In the lore, she participated in the archon war and has honed her craft as a warrior over thousands of years, even making her own weapons....

It’s been a little over a month now since miHoYo’s popular open world RPG Genshin Impact released, and players seem to be just as infatuated with the game as when it first launched. Genshin Impact players are finally allowed to enter the previously locked-down Dragonspine area, which sits at the center of Teyvat’s current map. In a recent interview with IGN, Elden Ring director Hidetaki Miyazaki revealed the extent of Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin’s involvement with the upcoming FromSoftware title. The game takes place in The Lands Between, “a name that was invented by George R.R. Martin himself,” states Miyazaki. He adds, Martin “brought things to the table that we couldn’t have done by ourselves, in terms of that rich storytelling and that sense of character and drama....

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends has announced the release date of its much-hyped Raid. The PlayStation-exclusive title continues to sell incredibly well, making a Ghost of Tsushima sequel seem like an obvious conclusion. Developer Sucker Punch has seen rousing success with its free-to-play Legends DLC. The Ghost of Tsushima co-op update has tallied over 2 million matches since launching last week on October 16. The raid, called The Tale of Iyo, is confirmed to drop on Friday, October 30....

Google has confirmed that it will allow people to enable the Bluetooth feature of the Stadia controller so that they can continue to use it even after Stadia itself is killed off. Google is already working to put Stadia out of its misery but questions have been circling about what would happen to that controller. As far as controllers go the Stadia offering is one of the better ones, and now Google has confirmed that people will be able to use it with other devices in the future....

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is known for its stunning visuals from the artistic and programming wizards at Square Enix, and when you look at these incredibly hi-res renders, you’ll notice how detailed the company is with their characters. Audrey (@aitaikimochi) on Twitter attended a Final Fantasy VII Remake event at the Skytree, a well-known hotspot in Tokyo. While there, she found immaculately printed pictures of the main cast for the game and found minute details in the way each character is designed....

With Final Fantasy 7 Remake launching last year, fans of the franchise are well and truly reinvested in the tale of Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, and Barret’s epic battle against the villainous Sephiroth. Although the title only released last year, fans know there’s much more to come, and a recent tease from someone closely involved with the game has got the internet curious about the prospect of possibly seeing more soon....

Unlike in Final Fantasy 7, Red XIII is not a playable character in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Instead, Red helps the party autonomously as a “guest” member, somewhat similar to that of a FF7 Summon — only Red lasts forever and players can’t tell him what to do. Producer Yoshinori Kitase said that the development team decided to go this route because it didn’t feel like the game left enough time for players to become as familiar with Red as it did the other playable cast members....

Although Final Fantasy VII Remake isn’t a particularly difficult game, completing all that the title has to offer can be incredibly time consuming. On top of its 18 chapter story, it’s stuffed full of side quests and mini-games and has one or two secret boss battles that will really put your understanding of the combat system to the test. There are a total of 54 trophies to unlock and doing so will require two full playthroughs as well as completing certain sections of the game multiple times....

The Moonfire Faire has once again arrived in Final Fantasy XIV, and players ought to hustle if they want to snatch up their rewards before the event ends on August 26th. Unlocking the rewards involves a handful of quests that leads players to Costa del Sol, the rather distasteful Master Gegeruju’s seaside resort. To pick up the event quest, head to the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and run to the plaza with the Calamity Salvager....

Crystal Dynamics and Geoff Keighley are teaming up for a new installment of Keighley’s “interactive journalism series,” The Final Hours, focused on next year’s Tomb Raider. Like the game itself, The Final Hours of Tomb Raider is set to debut next March. In the meantime, a “documentary web series " hosted by Chuck star/Spike VGAs host Zachary Levi, will take players inside the game’s development. The inaugural effort, titled Final Hours Episode 1: An Icon Reborn, is viewable at the top of this page....

When Jon Napier, FreeStyleGames’ director of projects, said that Guitar Hero Live would have something for everyone, he wasn’t kidding. A screenshot posted to the official Guitar Hero Live Facebook page revealed the first ten songs included in the upcoming music game, and as promised, the track list is all over the place. Sure, the game looks like it still favors indie and hard rock, but what about players who prefer blues?...

FACEIT and B Site have announced the second season of their competitive CS:GO league Flashpoint. The first season took place earlier this year, awarding $500,000 to its victor, MAD Lions. The second season will begin in November, taking place online through December. The event boasts a $1 million prize pool, matching that of the first season. Flashpoint season 2 will see twelve of CS:GO’s best teams compete for a $500,000 grand prize....

With eSports coming to the Olympics in 2022, it should come as no surprise that more and more teams are popping up and getting ready because of this announcement. One team, Team Secret of DOTA 2 fame, has just signed four players to a Fortnite squad, which includes a 13 year old player. Two of these team members are from Norway, one from Latvia, and one from the United Kingdom.
