While it appears that Fortnite Season 3 is very likely to come to a close next week, there is still at least one more week’s worth of challenges for players to complete in this water-focused season. These will be the Fortnite Season 3 Week 10 challenges, and fans should expect them to go live this Thursday, August 20. That said, players can familiarize themselves with these challenges ahead of that date if they wish to, as they have indeed been leaked online....

Originally slated for a release this past October, Friday the 13th: The Game was pushed into 2017 so that developers Gun Media could implement a single player mode. Gun Media has yet to give fans a thorough look at the single player, but in the meantime, it has shown off more of the game’s asymmetric multiplayer gameplay to tide them over until the solo story is ready to be shown off to the masses....

When Danganronpa first released, it stuck strictly to telling its story through a visual novel format. As it grew in popularity though, this changed as the series started to move into other pieces of media to tell its story. This included light novels that serve as the series prequel, an anime that wrapped up the first two-game timelines, and a spin-off series about Byakuya Togami that may or may not be canon....

With Double Fine having become a part of Microsoft during the last E3, the future of its “Double Fine Presents” publishing arm was cast into doubt. An interview with Destructoid cast doubt on the future of the division, which wasn’t made any better when Presents’ CEO, Greg Rice, left the company in November of 2019. Many started to speculate that the company would be pulling back on signing other indie games, since publishing while being a part of a major publisher didn’t make sense....

Over on Reddit, a Genshin Impact player has discovered a bug that lets you add one additional member to your party. Typically locked at four, this simple trick will allow you to bring a fifth member along on your adventures. Genshin Impact fans are just barely done celebrating the Lantern Rite Festival with Xiao, but developer miHoYo continues to blaze forward with brand new events and content. Apart from a new five-star character, Travelers are now also being treated to a small token of appreciation from the character, Bennett - but time is of the essence. Travelers who log on to Genshin Impact on February 28 (or 29, presumably/when applicable), will find a message from the four-star character Bennett in their Inboxes....

With COVID-19 keeping everyone indoors and away from karaoke bars, where does one turn for a drunken night of singing? The Let’s Sing series, of course. Going on for roughly half a decade (the earliest entry I could find hails from 2014 on Steam), this party-based rhythm game will soon be getting an entry dedicated to one of the greatest rock bands of all time: Queen. In the aptly titled Let’s Sing Queen, budding vocalists will have the chance to sing along with 30 popular Queen songs in a variety of modes....

Well, dang. The follow-up to the much-ballyhooed Gloomhaven was always going to be a Kickstarter success but on this scale? That’s truly amazing. For fans of traditional tabletop games, Gloomhaven, of course, needs no introduction. It’s a dungeon-crawling fantasy adventure reminiscent of the likes of Dungeons and Dragons, in which parties of bold adventurers set out on a quest to eradicate evil. There are character classes, special abilities and… well, you know how this sort of thing goes....

There’s one issue that players may run into while jumping into Final Fantasy 7 Remake and especially if they revisited the original before seeing how Square Enix decided to retell the classic story. This is that much of the legacy of Final Fantasy 7 is actually attached to the multimedia storm that came after the classic first launched, through spin-off games, movies, and a collection of anime and manga. Among this extended universe that has been added to the canon bit by bit, is the inclusion of the PS2 exclusive Dirge of Cerberus, starring the optional character Vincent Valentine and a host of new enemies, including the villain Weiss....

The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake is almost upon us and we’ve been chronicling the timeline of the series leading up to the events of the game. It’s time to tackle the events that happen after Final Fantasy VII, in the form of the novels Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus. We know that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be going in a different direction with its story and it’s possible that the events of these pieces of media could be made non-canon in the future....

Trophy hunting can be a tiring gig, especially in games like Assassin’s Creed, where the open world is never-ending. Another game that sports difficult milestones is Super Mario Sunshine, where collecting every blue coin can be a struggle. Veteran players may enjoy skimming every edge of the game’s existence repeatedly, but for new players, that may be too time-consuming. Super Mario Sunshine has 240 blue coins to be discovered in its seven different worlds, and it can be rather difficult to keep track of every coin you’ve collected - unless you’ve prepared your own log....

Across the sixteen games that make up the Fire Emblem series, the franchise has seen countless villains. While the series possesses a notable amount of sympathetic villains that make up the series’ well established “Camus archetype,” Fire Emblem is not at a loss of completely deplorable and vile antagonists. While there is something intimidating about villains wielding great power, there’s something special about villains so heinous that a player is given a great sense of accomplishment when they are inevitably conquered....

Last week we were treated to the surprise news that a new South Park game was in development and that unlike games of late, this one isn’t an arcade title, but a full-fledged RPG. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, this is going to be a pretty serious endeavor for the development house and South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The news stemmed from Game Informer who are featuring South Park: The Game as the next cover issue....

Eager Monster Hunter fans with a taste for importing have probably already gotten their fill of Monster Hunter XX, as it’s known in its native Japan. The game took its sweet time to find its way over to Western shores, but it’s finally doing so later this month (August 28th to be precise). As release draws ever closer, here comes the first English-language footage of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. With Capcom quashing the possibility of Monster Hunter World ever coming to Switch, serial Rathalos-botherers were probably feeling a little hard done by....

Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be released just a few short days from now, however, developer CD Projekt Red delayed the game for the third time. Following this delay, CDPR’s stock price fell by 25%. The announcement came on October 27 in a surprise post on Twitter. CDPR found themselves in a PR nightmare, having promised dedicated fans that the game would not be delayed again. In fact, just the day before the most recent delay, CDPR directly promised one fan that they were safe to take time off of work because the game had “full confirmation” that it would be released on time....

A new batch of Epic Quests is now available in Fortnite, and players can earn a lot of XP by tackling all of these tasks. In general, the new challenges are fairly straightforward, though there are a few that may give fans some amount of trouble. For instance, the challenge that instructs Fortnite players to deal damage within 15 seconds of gliding may seem a bit difficult upon first glance, though it actually can be completed quite easily....

Fortnite Season 9 has so far been marked by its frequent special events. We’ve already had an Avengers: Endgame event and a John Wick event, both of which came with special skins, emotes, and game modes. And now, fresh off the heels of the John Wick event, we have a crossover with Michael Jordan. The Michael Jordan/Fortnite event includes a Tony Hawk Pro Skater-style game mode called Downtown Drop. The goal of Downtown Drop is to collect coins and complete objectives, like finding cardboard cutouts of Jonesy that are hidden around the track....

With the latest season of Fortnite came several new skins for players to earn through the Battle Pass and wear as they drop onto the island to duke it out with similarly clad opponents in their new gear. One of these new arrivals has taken the title by storm, as Kratos enters Fortnite in Chapter 2, Season 5 as a skin, bringing the PlayStation exclusive character to an array of systems for the first time ever....
