According to a brand new PlayStation Brazil advertisement that launched today, it looks like Final Fantasy 16 might be a timed PS5 exclusive. The Playstation ad detailed which games will be coming/are on the next-gen console this year, the first three games being Deathloop, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Godfall - all of which will also be available on PC. This fact is even mentioned in the ad. However, some helpful translators on ResetEra were able to pull an important quote from the video regarding Final Fantasy 16’s launch....

Ubisoft officially announces the forthcoming availability of a closed beta for its hack-and-slash title, For Honor, with fans being able to register now. Several months ago, Ubisoft announced that For Honor’s closed alpha was the studio’s biggest yet, with hundreds of thousands of players participating in the four day test. Now the publisher and developer is set to give fans who missed out on For Honor’s alpha a chance to take part in the forthcoming hack-and-slash sword-fighting game’s closed beta, which is set to begin sometime in January 2017....

Fortnite’s Fortnitemares Halloween event is slated to start on Wednesday, October 24th, according to a post on the game’s PS4 community. The event listing claims that the Fortnitemares event will feature Spooky Rewards and challenges, and it will last until Sunday, November 4th. This Fortnitemares event would mark one of the first times that players are given in-game challenges with the promise of rewards. Typically, the Battle Pass doles out skins and various cosmetics, but it requires an upfront cost....

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the brains behind HBO’s Game of Thrones, have teamed up with actor Hugh Jackman to work on a new project with Netflix. The team is developing a series adaptation of Richard Powers’ Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Overstory. They will be joined by Powers himself, who serves in a co-executive producer capacity. No details have been revealed about casting or a release date at the moment. However, there is a possibility that Jackman might have an acting role in the series, too, Deadline reported....
