There is so much competition out there that it is a necessity of the genre. Plus, most BR games take place exclusively on one, relatively small map. If developers were to leave that map as it is and make no further changes to the game, chances are it wouldn’t be a competitive game for very long, no matter how good it is....

Epic Games has released several new patches for Fortnite Battle Royale over the past few weeks, including a patch that introduced the Cozy Campfire healing item. But fans of the popular battle royale mode are now saying that the arrival of the item has a major bug. According to a gameplay clip posted on Reddit by one Fortnite player, if players use the Cozy Campfire item during the pre-game lobby, the game will think that they have a full-shield equipped when they get into the actual match....

It seems that Microsoft isn’t done stuffing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers full of free games, as the new Free Play Days will give Xbox owners temporary ownership of titles, with a large discount on purchasing them digitally, should you wish to keep them after the promotion ends. Microsoft has been creating the video game equivalent to Netflix with its Game Pass service for PC and Xbox systems. The service was stacked with new titles in November when EA Play’s library was added to Game Pass....

As many Friday the 13th: The Game fans are likely aware, Gun Media and IllFonic are planning a big update for the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror title, but the companies have yet to openly divulge exactly when the patch will come to fruition. While one Redditor by the name of FoukelPoint recently posted a conversation held between them and someone who’s supposedly an IllFonic team member stating that the update was going to come out on either August 24 or August 25, with the days having come and gone with no release, Gun Media has stepped up to offer a statement on the next patch....

In a recent vote, the World Health Organization has officially approved classifying video game addiction, or gaming disorder, as a disease. The unanimous vote means that gaming disorder will officially be added with the revisions to the International Classification of Diseases, commonly known as the ICD, and will go into effect January 1, 2022. While the World Health Organization classified gaming addiction as a disease a year ago, today’s vote and the 72nd World Health Assembly finalized the revision and made the classification official....

According to Twitter user Lulu Chiba, the Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town remake will feature the ability to marry another person of the same sex.
