Over a decade has passed since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 on the PlayStation 2. Since then, all of the fans have been desperately clamoring for the sequel to one of the biggest franchises in video gaming. We were given tons of supplemental material in side-games, but they’ve been fairly hit-or-miss with its audiences. So it’s with great relief (and a bit of impatience) that we can finally expect Kingdom Hearts 3 to be released around the end of 2018....

God of War’s director explains the reasoning behind moving Kratos from Greek to Norse Mythology in Santa Monica Studio’s forthcoming game starring the Ghost of Sparta. The handful of PS5 exclusives on offer promise nothing but next-gen immersion. However, one title has a pretty big catch. Godfall developer Counterplay Games confirmed that its looter-slasher would require a constant internet connection. Eagle-eyed fans of the upcoming title noticed the small print on the official Godfall page on Sony’s website, which states: “Online Play Required”. As many predicted, Gotham Knights thrusts the Bat Family into the starting role by removing Batman entirely. Shockingly, in order to really ground the story and take away a lifeline to players, the decision was made to kill Batman, leaving Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood to defend the city from chaos. While many fans expected a link to the past Arkhamverse games, Gotham Knights charts its own path in its own universe....

While defending World Cup winners France are determined to lift the trophy once again like they did in 2018, there are definitely a few other nations viewed as favorites to win it. Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton may be joined by the next Black Widow when the archer returns for his own standalone series. Florence Pugh is reportedly reprising her role as Yelena Belova in Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series for Disney+. Pugh is set to make her first appearance as Yelena Belova in Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, the long-awaited standalone film focused on Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff. Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War and before Romanoff sacrificed her own life in Avengers: Endgame, the film is expected to lay the groundwork for Pugh to take over the Black Widow mantle largely due to the fact that Belova is the second modern-era character to assume the moniker in the comics....

Ubisoft has announced that its historical combat simulator For Honor will be getting a crossover with Prince of Persia soon. Seemingly to promote that VR title that’s coming in the near future, this event will allow players to engage in various quests and game modes that are all centered on the long-forgotten series. The festivities kick off today and will run until April 2, 2020. The Blades of Persia event will have a second chapter that starts on March 19, as well....

David “DeeJ” Dague, former communications director at Bungie, has joined the team at Iron Galaxy Studios. Taking over communications duties as the company prepares to launch an original multiplayer melee combat IP. With over nine years of experience building communities at Bungie, Dague’s portfolio is quite extensive. Particularly on the Destiny series, where he started as a community manager on the first game, then later took over as communications director for the whole company....

Back before Bungie and Activision split, the latter used its diverse catalog of studios to help the former with work on Destiny 2. Now Bungie is going it alone and those studios that once had to serve as a type of unsung hero can work on their own projects. Among those Destiny 2 helper studios was Vicarious Visions, whose work had largely consisted of console ports before Activision acquired them in 2005....

This new week in Fortnite sees players completing a variety of tasks, including eliminating opponents with legendary weapons, landing in different named locations, and searching between ski lodges. And, per usual, once a player has completed all of this, they will be able to hunt down a hidden item. It also appears that season 7 is following the alternating banner/battle star pattern of season 6, so this means players will be able to find a hidden battle star after completing the week 3 challenges....
