Although it is currently an Xbox One exclusive title, The Coalition’s Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is set to release on PC platforms sometime in early 2016. According to a discussion on Twitter between a gaming fan and Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the obtainability of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’s PC version “won’t be too far into 2016”. Several weeks ago, Square Enix revealed some new concept art for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake during its Final Fantasy “Farewell Stories” 30th Anniversary Exhibition at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. Not only did those in attendance of the exhibition get their first look at the aforementioned artwork, but also they were on-hand for a surprise appearance from director Tetsuya Nomura, who showed off some screenshots indicating changes in the protagonist Cloud Strife’s design that apparently help him better resemble the original FF7 character....

The former Rockstar North president and key influence behind the Grand Theft Auto game series from GTA 3 – GTA 5, Leslie Benzies, finished raising $42 million for his new video game company. This funding from New York and Chinese investors will be directed towards the company’s development of its own GTA rival video game. Benzies and the GTA series go way back, but he departed developer Rockstar North in 2016 after major issues with Take-Two interactive....

When the Fortnite Season 6 trailer launched, many believed it hinted at the possible return of Skull Trooper. Moreover, it seemed likely that this rare and beloved skin would release around the time of Halloween. LEGO Speed Champions gets off to an amusingly on-brand start. The intro video from Forza Horizon 4 plays, where a lady explains her vision for a celebration of cars and the freedom they bring, only this time with LEGO. After the rousing speech, the Forza car in the original intro speeds into a screen where it transports onto the British countryside. The LEGO car crashes into a wall. It sets a great precedent, as does the tutorial race where you smash through LEGO environments....

Here’s a fun little detail that’s so easy to miss that barely anyone has noticed in more than a decade: the sniper in Team Fortress 2 has a common battlefield injury known as a “Garand Thumb.” This detail was pointed out in the TF2 subreddit by user anevar a full 13 years after the game came out. Video game merch distributor Gaming Heads have announced the pre-order phase of its new life-size bust of Kratos from God of War. The incredibly detailed and life-like bust is available for pre-order from the distributor’s website retailing at $799.99, with a non-refundable deposit of $80. Estimated to start shipping in the first quarter of 2021, Gaming Head’s replica of the Norse Era God of War Kratos stands at just over two feet tall....

The are a few absolute certainties in life outside of death, taxes and overpriced console DLC, the latter of which Epic Games is attempting become a leader in. It began with the Gears of War 3 season pass which offers gamers all of the four pre-planned upcoming DLC packs for a “discounted” price of $30, i.e. half the price of the retail game. Without knowing exactly what is in this DLC, paying 50% more than the retail price of the game is a tough pill to swallow, even if it is cheaper than buying them individually - it just emphasizes that it’s all too expensive to begin with....
