In previous seasons of Fortnite, players had to find treasure maps hidden throughout the battle royale map, and then follow their directions to secret battle stars. Season 8 of Fortnite mixes things up a bit by having the treasure map be part of a loading screen instead of found in the game world, tasking players with visiting the location marked by the magnifying glass sitting on the map. The loading screen in question shows a treasure map weighed down by coins, a telescope, a sword, and of course, the magnifying glass....

The previous record was also held by TheGrefg, which pulled in massive numbers during Fortnite’s Galactus event. The games consist of you trekking around a region and visiting ten or so cities while living out the exact same stories, so these locations really need to pop. A new batch of retro games has been announced for the Nintendo Switch Online service, with four new NES & SNES games being added on May 20. The Nintendo Switch Online service launched with twenty NES games and it was originally Nintendo’s intention to add new games every month. Nintendo would go on to add SNES games to the service, with the caveat that new game additions would no longer be on a set schedule....

It seems that one of the biggest PlayStation 4 exclusives might be arriving sooner than anyone thought, as an online retailer may have leaked the release date for Ghost of Tsushima. The Swedish online retailer called Spelbutiken has listed August 30, 2019, as the release date for Ghost of Tsushima, which would give it the same release date as Astral Chain for the Nintendo Switch. Shenmue III is also due to be released at the end of August, which gives us cause to doubt the Ghost of Tsushima leak, as Shenmue III is only coming to PlayStation 4 and Windows, so it would make sense to put some space between the release of the two games....
In a bizarrely belated move, publisher 505 Games has announced that a brand new demo will be available for its cyberpunk action-FPS Ghostrunner on consoles. Downloadable on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, I suppose the idea is that anyone still on the fence can finally see if the game is right for them. I’d certainly say it is, but I’ve also only played the PC version. Reports of the console versions yield good news....
This year marks Sega’s 60th anniversary and, as such, the company has kicked off celebrations with some amazing deals for Steam users. Firstly, numerous Sega titles on Steam are now being sold at a discount, including the likes of Sonic Mania, Persona 4 Golden, and Yakuza Kiwami, and it’s even offering Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for free. Square Enix has released more details on the job system found in Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age that sheds light on a new feature that should add a bit more variety to the remaster. The game’s Zodiac Job System will now allow for two job classes to be assigned to the same character. It was originally limited to just one in the International version that introduced the system. According to RPG Site, once a character unlocks the “L Board Plus” on the License Board, they can then select a second job to either compliment a character’s current abilities or simply spice things up in interesting ways....
The classic SNK fighting game is getting a new lease on life, as Garou: Mark of the Wolves has made its way to current-gen consoles like the Playstation 4. Fans of the game can own a physical copy to collect thanks to Limited Run Games as the classic fighter becomes available later in July. The American video game distributor made the announcement during the Annual Game Announcement Show. The SNK title was the final entry of the Fatal Fury franchise of fighting games that came out in the 90s....
Without a doubt, there were a ton of great games at E3 2018, and with the event being such a major celebration of the gaming industry, fans naturally assumed that Square Enix’s press conference at the expo would have featured the forthcoming Final Fantasy 7 remake in some capacity. Alas, that didn’t happen, but director Tetsuya Nomura recently decided to offer up an update on the game in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, saying that the project’s development is “going well” and “moving along more than expected”....
