Just last week, Jon Snow was waving goodbye to Sansa Stark, not even warning her that Littlefinger was being sneaky and lecherous in the tombs (not that she needs the hint), and now here he is in a rowboat approaching Dragonstone. Presumably several weeks have passed, but then again, only a few days likewise went by for the Greyjoys....

Five of our writers take a few minutes out of their busy schedules to give their opinions on some of the most compelling and controversial recent news stories of the game industry. Which is why for years, video games have been blamed for real-life violence, and even linked to some pretty horrific incidents over the last few decades....

Over the years, the Need For Speed series has undergone many changes from things as simple as its general aesthetic to the core gameplay. News broke yesterday that George Sherman, CEO of GameStop, would be stepping down from his position at the end of July (or sooner if a replacement can be found quickly). This comes after frequent critic Ryan Cohen was announced ascendant to the chairman of GameStop’s board of directors, which likely created some friction with GameStop’s leadership. Another likely reason for Sherman’s ousting is his failure to meet fourth-quarter performance targets, which resulted in him losing out on $100 million worth of company shares....

Gears Tactics, the XCOM-like turn-based strategy spin-off for the Gears of War series, only released back in April for PC and will soon be coming to not only the Xbox One as promised, but it will also be a launch title for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles and be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass as well. With it coming to next-gen hardware, developer The Coalition has stated that Gears Tactics will be taking advantage of the Xbox Series X’s capabilities and run at a native 4K and 60fps, but it will be more than just a simple upgraded port of the game and will include whole new content....

An in-game glitch is revealing just what the new Captain Price skin will look like in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Season four starts tonight. After month of purported rumors and leaks that it was happening, Santa Monica Studio finally revealed a God of War sequel was coming to PS5. The only thing it really confirmed was that “Ragnarok is coming,” but that’s enough. After all, players got a glimpse at Thor at the end of God of War. Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla vs. Kong is stomping its way closer and closer to release, and fans are already picking sides for the grudge match of a lifetime. Everyone has their favorite, and there is no shortage of arguments as to who is better suited to wipe the floor with the other, but there is one question that has lingered: why exactly is King Kong so much larger now? When Google first launched its Stadia service last year, it lacked many of its promised features. Since then, Google has updated Google Stadia a number of times, adding things like Stadia achievements, support for other platforms, and more. Kang the Conqueror is making his way to Marvel Champions: The Card Game, with an all-new expansion titled The Once and Future Kang, a brand-new scenario pack for the popular board game. Players will have an opportunity to take on one of the greatest Marvel villains soon, as the Scenario Pack will release in October of this year. Kang is an excellent villain to base a new campaign game around because there is simply a massive amount of interesting potential available thanks to years of storytelling thanks to the time-traveling nature of the character....

As if the development cycle of Final Fantasy 15 was not difficult enough, the team at Square Enix had to contend with copies of the game breaking the street date, resulting in footage of the game leaking online. All worked out well for the title in the end, but it was still a difficult time for director Hajime Tabata - although Tabata can now see some potential silver linings should a similar situation arise in the future....
